    Full Body Scanners

Do you think full body scanners should be allowed in airports?

These scanners give a much more detailed view of the body.

No problem for me - with just one catch. NO EXCEPTIONS FOR ANYONE. If I've got to submit to the nudie scan, then EVERYONE must submit to it. No exceptions for politicians, celebrities, or persons who object for religious reasons. If the TL has to get the nudie scan, then so do the muslim women in the black bed sheets, nuns and everyone else.

Where can I apply for the job to scan all of the good looking men?

Apparently two of us think the right to privacy overrules our right to not be blown up. Sorry, I disagree. If you value your right to privacy so much, you certainly don't have to fly. I value my right to not have Akbar packing C4 in his shorts.

That's where I agree. Flying is not a necessity. If you don't want to go through the scan or whatever else, then drive.

Nobody likes the invasive things like a scan or even the pat downs (I've gone through that). My only objection is when people like me are selected for reasons of political correctness. Make the scan mandatory for EVERYONE and then it's even. Like I said, no exceptions.

BTW, that's really brave of you to put your own scan up like that, IHL. And here I thought you were such a private guy. Must be some sort of pre-New Years resolution to let the TAR Pals get to know you a bit better. Who'da thunk it.

I suggested to a friend that we all strip naked and slide into tubes that can be neatly stacked into the airplane. There's no way you could conceal anything, and the airline industry can finally achieve its goal of pissing off every customer that they get and making the ride as horrible as possible. Sadly I realized that would mean it wouldn't be long before Republicans were gleefully demanding cavity searches for "protection."

Anyways, if this technology is okay for an airport then maybe we should use it other places. Taking a bus? Naked shot of you displayed before all the passengers. Going to the mall? Pervy security guard gawking at the monitor. Kid going to school? Mr. Molester just picked your child.

Aurelius, You and I agree on this one. If we allow the terrorists to change our lives this much, they have won.

Hey you didn't vote - march yourself right up to the top of this thread and cast your vote, young man.
Well compared to me you are young.

Will I be celebrating the 28th anniversary of my 40th birthday on January 1st ? Maybe, maybe not.

These complaints from a guy who thinks it's okay for the government to force citizens to purchase health care insurance just because they exhist? Or how about 'ol Rahm's suggestion that everyone submit to three months of service - because citizenship comes at a price now?

We might not need the scans if the stupid PC crowd would allow something like, oh, let's say...profiling. Nope. Wave the young Islamic guy through, but be sure to pull TL aside for the pat down!

Know what I do when I fly? I purposely wear my littlest jeans and a tight fitting top. And they cannot even use the excuse about concern over a bra, because Victoria's Secret makes these great bra tops so that you don't have to wear a bra (unless you're really stacked or something). So all I've got on is the jeans, the top and the undies. It's totally obvious that I am not hiding and big weapon or anything under there. But, they search me anyway. Political correctness at it's best. They look like total idiots when they pat down a woman wearing clothes like that. That's part of the reason I do it though.

Hey, so long as we're not profiling and possibly hurting the feelings of Mr. Terrorist, then it's all good. As far as I am concerned, the invasive scanning falls on the shoulders of the left - so they have no right to complain.

I don't have to take off my shoes to board a bus or enter the mall. I don't have to show ID, or buy a ticket, put my belongings through and xray - nothing. Maybe we should just get rid of all the security and let anyone who feels like it get on a plane.

So the liberals don't want me to exercise my 2nd amendment right to own or carry a gun but they are afraid to make it much more difficult for terrorists to blow up innocent people on an airplane because that might be infringing on their rights. Incredible. And heaven forbid if we actually try to search the people we know will attack us again.

Infringe on the constitutional rights of Americans, but don't do anything to offend the terrorists. There's that liberal logic I don't understand again.

You've hit upon the way to stop terrorists from blowing up planes, issue a handgun with each plane ticket.

and for trains and buses and malls - issue a hand gun to each person on their 25th birthday.

Sounds reasonable to me. But they only get the handgun for their birthday after assuming they pass the background check.

Can't offend the murderers, IHL. ACLU says no to profiling. We shall see what happens when a Muslim woman files suit if the person scanning her is not of her same faith. You know it is going to happen. TSA will have to have certain employee's to suit the needs of certain groups of people.

Are you guys kidding? This is a terrible idea. They have no right at all to see us that naked. When we change our lives this much then yes we have lost.

Those who would be willing to trade individual freedoms, for a false sense of security deserve neither.
The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me.

Peace, the lefty whiners won't allow profiling. They insist on being all nice and equal about searching people. They've got TSA employee's peeking inside baby diapers for god's sake! So you know what? I'll take the scan. But as I said - EVERYONE gets the same treatment - NO exceptions. Let's see what the crybaby left and the muslims have to say about that. They won't get to cry about discrimination or being profiled anymore. They can go through the scanner or they can't board the plane.

Maybe after this is implemented we can re-think the whole profiling thing and do what should have been done all along.
