JB you're just going to discount any movement that I put forward. Grassroots movements are just a coalition of various groups which all share a common cause by private individuals. A good example are Southern Baptist churches and Catholic churches. The Southern Baptist churches are independently ran but most of them still attend the large conventions. Catholic churches have a power structure where decisions go beyond the individual church and ultimately a single person rules over the entire religion.

Support happens eventually with any movement, you just can't say oh look people want this and it suddenly poofs into existence. Political parties take notice and one of them has to support it or it will never go anywhere. What you're not getting is that these tea parties were staged events and unless local leadership appears afterward this is just going to turn into a stunt. On the other hand PACs have a lot of money so who knows.

They were staged by small groups across the nation, after the idea was out forth by a central figure

I heard someone say today that David Gergen was on Cnn or Msnbc last night and he said that these tea parties are now becoming too big to be ignored.

what does it matter what they are wearing?

Because most upper class individuals wouldn't be caught dead without their Izod.

I have decided that Obama has pulled off the ultimate scheme.............as the tea parties were gaining momentum, he decided this would be a good time to release the interrogation technique memos in order to divert the people's attention to something that is partisan at it's core because the tea parties were, for the most part, bipartisan. This is the level to which this egotistical maniac will stoop in order to take the attention away from something that many supported. In my opinion, this is the official White House response to the tea parties.

Our response will be more events like the Tea Parties. This is not going to stop. There is no way on this earth that we are going to just give up or give in to Chairman O.

We'll go from hundreds of thousands, to millions of protesters at some point. B. Hussein wants to distract and discourage - don't let them do it. If we do, then they win and our country is lost, perhaps forever.

The anti-war movement during Vietnam came about from individuals and had no assistance

Sorry, revisionism doesn't work here.

The biggest contributor to the anti war group in the sixties was none other than the central party of the USSR, and all its surrogates, which included the North Vietnamese Govt.
