Welcome to IHL. I love Texas, best state in the US.
I agree. The best thing about being a Texan is that no matter where you are in the world people know Texas.

Welcome to the site! I've noticed that there are a lot of Texans here on this site (not that I'm complaining). Enjoy the forums and God bless Texas and the USA!

You should check out Austin, or some pretty major parts of Dallas. It's not as conservative as you think. It's painted the way it is today as a result of the illegal redsitricting from 2003.

Ya I know, Alaska on the other hand seems to be the most conservative state.

Gerrymandering's legal as long as it isn't done solely on race (I know, I passed Poli Sci 101).

The gerrymandering wasn't the problem, it's that fact that the Texas constitution says redistricting is done every 10 years. We redsitricted in 2000 as per the constitution. They redistricted in 2003.
