As most people here are probably aware, TheAmericanRight used to have a Religion forum. It is no longer here. Not because religion is not at times relevant to certain political issues - it is. The problem was, the forum became a go-nowhere area where the religious and the non-religious congregated to quote scripture and just bash back and forth at one another.
IHL eventually just closed the section of the site, but certainly did not impose any sort of ban on talking about religion when the subject connected to another political or social issue.
Here is the problem - I've noticed that in thread after thread after thread, the subject goes back to a full blown discussion about scripture and religion where again, people use it to simply bash back and forth, with it really going nowhere.
Look, if you're a person of faith, then great! If you're not, then that's fine as well. You are entitled to your beliefs. What you are not entitled to do, is turn every thread on this site into yet another religious discussion. It's getting really old and it simply goes nowhere.
Faith comes from within you. You can't, and shouldn't force it on people. That's something left for the Taliban or some other kook group.
When it's truly relevant to the conversation then fine. But let's not use this site to insert religious debate into every thread possible. Just as in the Religion forum that we once had, I cannot help but notice how this just goes round and round with no end in sight.
Thou shalt not turn every thread into a religion thread.
