Passion for liberty is a beautiful thing. We see it in our people - some of them, anyway. We certainly see it in the men and women who serve in our military and law enforcement, who protect the American way of life. Unfortunatly, we are not seeing much passion for the liberty of the American citizen by those on the left, including the President of The United States, Barack Hussein Obama. It's enough to break your heart...but as we all know, we can not and will not let Chairman O and his ilk, break our spirit.
The country has changed. Certainly not in any sort of hopeful way though. Not on the part of the administration, anyway. So, where is the Hope? I'll tell you...
I saw hope today. I witnessed it first hand. Hope was in the action of real American's who came out in unexpected numbers with signs and shirts and megaphones and most importantly, The American Spirit! Yes, passion for liberty is a beautiful thing.
San Diego held it's first Tea Party protest this morning. It was right there on our beautiful waterfront just north of the Star Of India. What a magnificent spot, right there with our sailing vessels, and just up the street from the USS Midway. Very appropriate, in my opinion.
The police were expecting approximately 70 or so participants, since this was put together so quickly. The official count though, according to the very nice (not to mention really nice looking  )police officers I spoke with, was 350. It was magnificent! The organizer did an outstanding job, as did the speaker and all of the participants. My hometown made a statement today.
I met a lot of great people. Of course I did a little promotion for our favorite little political site as well. You know me, love to get to know all the TAR pals we have, or may have in the future. After the event wound down, I spoke briefly with the woman who was the official speaker for the Tea Party. Of course I had to do this because I wouldn't want to disappoint Schmucky Schumer. I'm part of the "chattering class" and damned proud of it! The speaker was fantastic! I've invited both she and the main organizer to come here and talk to us about the event and what else is being planned in the future, because as I've already said in other threads here, I want to see this thing grow and have more people participate. We need to educate one another, and should the numbers of Tea Party protesters continue to increase, it will send an important psychological message to the Piglosi's, Schmucky's, Hussein's, and Turbin's of the world.
What a great event. I urge everyone here at TAR to keep an eye out for events in your area's, and when one comes your way - GO! You will LOVE IT!
For anyone at the event today in San Diego, who I met and invited in to TheAmericanRight: Welcome! It would be an absolute honor to have you here at TAR. You are what I like to call: Action Hero's of the Real Life sort. You took the time to care about making a difference. For that, you have my admiration and respect.

NeverForget911 asked for idea's for signs for the Tea Party in his area. Let it not be said that TL does not pay attention to her TAR Pals' requests. :icon_wink
Here are some of the signs I saw today:
- We Will Not Go Quietly. Big Government Will Not Win!
- No No BHO. No Taxation Without Showing Your Birth Certificate.
- If You Think Healthcare Is Expensive Now - Wait Till It's Free.
- Free Markets. Not Free Loaders.
- Wake Up America! Taxation Without Representation Is Tyranny!
- Crooks In Congress Means Socialism
- Bring Back Personal Responsibility
- Bill Of Rights - Void and Prohibited By Law
- Secure Our Borders. Enforce Our Law. No To La Raza, Neo-Nazi, KKK Racist groups.
- Obama's Stimulus Bill. Can I get Some KY With That?
- Slope Of Hope (this sign had a big chart with a downward arrow)
- Stop Obamanomics
- Boycott All Business's That Hire Illegals
- Tooth Fairy For President (You've really got to appreciate the humor in that one)
- Give me Liber-Tea
- WANTED: Taxpayer Bailout Plan
- Better To Lose A House Than A Country
- Doo Doo Economics (This was on t-shirts that some people wore. Loved that.)
- 40 Days Later And $11 Trillion Dollars In Debt
- Congress Works For Themselves, Not The People
- Smash Socialism
- Big Government Kills Small Business
- Audacity Of Lies
- Stop Generational Theft
- The Federal Government Should Not Be Bailing Out Bad Behavior
- We can't Afford More Change
- Hope and Change. Translation= Despair and Socialism
- I'll Keep My Money, Freedom and Guns, You Can Keep The Change
- Kill The Incentive and You Kill The Incentive
- Dump The Taxes, Earmarks and Arrogance
- Hey Uncle Sam, Stay Out Of My Wallet
- Obama Went To Washington and All I Can Afford Is This Sign
- Hey ... I Got The Wrong Change
And those are just the ones I had the energy to write down! There was even a couple that pulled up in the waterfront backdrop in their sailboat and hoisted a flag up the mast that read: "Repeal Or Retire" . The crowd cheered with excitement and the people on board enjoyed their own special contribution to San Diego's Tea Party. Love it!

I wish I could have gone to the one in Nashville today. Looks like there were some creative folks there judging from the content of their signs. I particularly like the one 'Hope and Change Translation=Despair and Socialism'. That is very good.

I just found some info on the Nashville Tea Party. It was said there were around 600 in attendance. Here is a link with some pics from the protest.

Fantastic, Mary! I hope you get the chance to attend one. Even with my being sick today, I had a blast here at the protest in S.D.

Others that I know of are...Cedar Rapids, Denver, Wichita. I'm sure there are many more across the country. And Shummer says the people don't care about little ole' earmarks? Well, it's one humongous earmark, and people are mad as hell.

MMMMM...Organize one?
I see Malkin has some photo's from the San Diego event:

According to her site, the crowd topped 600. The officers I spoke to said, 350 though. Maybe it's somewhere in between though. Next time it'll be larger, I suppose.
You can see the Star Of India http://www.sdmaritime.com/contentpage.asp?ContentID=48 in the background. She's one beautiful ship! It's an amazing thing to see when they actually take her out and set sail around the bay. Everyone should come to see out waterfront sometime. It's a wonderful place to visit.

This is going to be a great forum where members can come to learn about what is happening across the country and how they can become involved in Taking The Country Back!
TheAmericanRightTalkRadio will be promoting this as well.

In the background, you can see one of our Naval ships at NAS North Island - home to the great USS Ronald Reagan http://www.reagan.navy.mil/
The speaker from the event is going to be a guest on WAA's radio show, as are some of the other organizers from these events all across the country. It's going to be great! :icon_bigg
Here is the local Tea Party site: http://www.socaltaxrevoltcoalition.org/3.html . Ordinary people doing extraordinary things. I love to see this!
