FALLUJAH, Iraq — FALLUJAH, Iraq (July 16, 2008) –Only a short time ago the city of Fallujah served as stronghold for insurgents. Daily skirmishes, improvised explosive device detonations and public unease made operating a business in the city very difficult.

Today, with improved security throughout the region, the low price of 4,000 dinar, or $3.50, will purchase a full meal at the recently established Kentucky Fried Chicken in the Hey Al Dubat area of the city.

Remember Fallujah..... remember the left wing surrender monkeys bemoaning how dismal our troops' performaces were because of how violent Fallujah was.....well now KFC has opened a store there.

The war ladies and gents is as good as won, now enters phase three the battle of capitalism, which will eventually drive the remnants of the insurgency out.

I wonder if Harry Reid will take back his ominous assertion that the war in Iraq is lost.

I wonder if Obama will revise is perspectives of The Surge......again.

I wonder if Nancy Pelosi will apologise to GW.

I doubt it.

Hell this tid-bit hasn't even been broadcast in the MSM.....but then what else is news.

Mmmm.. Chicken. I'd say that the KFC in Fallujah was as good as a triumphal arch.

Maybe because its not really newsworthy

Fast food comes to Iraq

April 21 2003

Basra: Fastfood giants Pizza Hut and Burger King have set up their first franchises inside war-torn Iraq, even as many aid convoys waited on the borders for the war to officially end.

old news is so exciting

Of course, I mean anything that drives the left wing surrender monkey maching is newsworthy right?

Anything that doesn't........nah it's not newsworthy.

After all Fallujah wasn't a hotbed of insurgent activity, so for an AMERICAN fast food joint (remember that place.....THE GREAT SATAN), to figure it's safe enought to open over there.....can't possibly be indicative of a dramatically improved situation over there....nope, it's all old news and not news worthy.

I understand what you are saying but it is still OLD NEWS... It happened in 2003 and it was all over the news... Another place opening up in the middle of a presidential campaign does not make headlines SORRY...

Why should'nt it make the news, Shotty? Turn on any of the three - CNN, FNC and MSNBC and you can see all sorts of completly irrelevant stories being passed off as legitimate news.

Did you see some of us talking about the earthquake coverage the other day? Well yesterday CNN STILL had it's reporters out on the prowl for a story about quake damage. Talk about desperate.

We're talking Fallujah here. Fallujah! Does'nt Michael Moore like to talk about Fallujah and the disasterous situation there? Seems to me that Mikie should have been there for the opening of the KFC. He could have cut the ribbon and then downed a bucket of chicken, some mashed potatoes and a barrel of gravy to wash it all down with.

You already answered the question in your post

Oh, good grief. Do you read ANYTHING anyone posts, or do you just look at the title guess what it's about and go from there.

Here's my original post

WHere the ==== do you get 5 years ago from....oh yeah that's right.

In your rush to spin this like a left wing surrender monkey, you produce this:

Basra: Fastfood giants Pizza Hut and Burger King

Fallujah.......Basra.....Fallujah......Basra.

I realise they both end with an 'A', but for God sake Shotdrops....they're in different freakin provinces.

Incase you forgot, Fallujah was a freakin hotbed of insurgent activity and one of the more, if not most dangerous places in Iraq. So it's significant that KFC feels it's safe enough to open a store there, particularly in light of the surrender monkeys in the senate who jumped at the opportunity to dub OP: IF a failure.

Now, if you'd like to rejoin us in reality, feel free

That's like comparing Cleveland, OH with South Central LA and telling me that they are equally as dangerous.

Wrong again Shotdrops.

The leftwing surrender monkeys were all over Fallujah while it was consumed by chaos in 2003. Fallujah was used as a bludgeoning tool on the Bush Admin as well as some military units for alleged 'attrocities' that were committed.

Fallujah was flaunted as evidence of the Bush Admin's failure, now that it has done a 180, none of the left wing surrender monkey will even look at it, or give the same level of attention it was given when it was chaos, including you.

yup cause thats exactly what i said...You are not even aware of my stance yet you will decide it for me...How truly skilled you are

ill spell it out for you since you cant seem to figure it out

On Iraq - i do not agree with being there, but our troops, which include friends and family members, have done a tremendous job with what they were given.

On Fast Food - no one cares about second place and KFC opening up in fallujah is not as big a story as when other fast food chains originally opened up in Iraq. Not a big story. I personally im happy that it we made it this far and have seen so much change. Does not change the fact thats its not a big story. im sure it will be picked up later

Oh horse shit, this thread centers around KFC and FALLUJAH, which has been my point of departure since post 1.

You on the other hand made light of it because apparently it's 5 YEAR OLD NEWS.

I show that it isn't 5 year old news, and you try to spin it by stating, that its not newsworthy beause 'Fast food has been in Iraq since 2003'.

This thread is not about Fast food and Iraq, it's about KFC opening up in Fallujah, not 2 weeks ago for the first time.

The fact is shotdrops, you shoved your foot in your mouth on this one, you know it and now you're trying to spin your way out of it.

Plenty of small news outlets picked up the story and im sure it will be picked up later

Of course not, because it doesn't further the left wing surrender monkey's agenda. If anyone was interested in honest reporting, this would make the news the day it happens, even if it was the anecdote at the end of the news cast.

But because it doesn't 'fit' into the left wing surrender monkey's agenda.....it doesnt'
make it.

It all boils down to yet another brick in the wall that demonstrates the bias of the media

You didn't address squat, all you did was dismiss it as inconsequential.

When a city is taken from grip of a group of insurgents who, according to the left wing surrender monkey mouthpieces in the Senate, are unstoppable, and becomes safe enough for a US company to open operations there....that effin newsworthy.

Particularly considering that, Fallujah lost about 50% of it's population to attrition or displacment since 2003 as a direct result of the war that was waged on it's streets.

Well I think it's wonderful that KFC has opened in Fallujah. I do wonder though, how long it will be before Geroge W. Bush is blamed for some Iraqi who has a heart attack because he is fat and has been found to have been dining at KFC.

I'm not sure how the feed bags will fit over the burqua's though: http://www.theonion.com/content/video/new_wearable_feedbags_let

I have heard this KFC was a lie, but no one elaborated so I cannot say... but I CAN say that wasting a nation and then moving in for the economic exploitation of the economically decimated reminds me of these folk we had here in VA a few years back... I think they were called: CARPET BAGGERS!!!!
