The prosecutors need to add treason to those list of charges

This is proof that the Democrats are on the side of the terrorists!

Wait, he's a Republican? Oh, in that case his political party doesn't matter. We can only be unfair toward people we disagree with.

Poly, you are an ignorant ass you know that. In case you didn't READ the responses of every conservative on here, not one of them is giving the former congressman any quarter.

No one is riding to his defense, NADA, every last one of them thus far has labelled him as a piece of shit, demanded that treason be added to the charges against him, and sugegst that he be shot.

When Sandy Berger for example violated national security with his stocking stuffing, I don't remember hearing ONE of you liberal wimps demand the same treatment.

So, spare us your self righteous indigntation.

Looks like my irony went past WAA and TL. I wasn't implying that anyone here defended this guy.

Had the congressman been a Democrat, almost everyone posting here would insist that the two are linked, and this thread would turn into an all out assault on the Democratic Party. But since most of the posters here are Republican, no one would dare link the two, and he is dismissed as a single bad apple. It's a double standard that exists to thinly assert one's own beliefs.

On a personal note, WAA, stop acting like a child. Your verbal abuse impresses no one who's worth a dime of respect.

Or perhaps you need to learn to present your position better.

Had the congressman been a Democrat, almost everyone posting here would insist that the two are linked, and this thread would turn into an all out assault on the Democratic Party.

Considering that the Democrat Party has many times in the past come to the aid of people embroiled in this kind of scandal, screaming "prejudice", "no evidence", "innocent until proven guilty", there is reason to take this position.

But since most of the posters here are Republican, no one would dare link the two, and he is dismissed as a single bad apple. It's a double standard that exists to thinly assert one's own beliefs.

When the RNC has a rap sheet like the democrats, I'll launch an all out assault on them too.

I'll call a spade, a spade when I see it, if you can't handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

Actually, his "verbal abuse" impresses me. I'd say he's 3 for 3 considering the post he left in the "Karl Rove's Strategy" thread. Dare I say it, but I missed the guy! Welcome back WAA.

Then again, I guess I'm not worth a dime of respect.

Haven't you figured out that it's okay to have double standards as long as you're on the side of the good guys? Just wear your white cowboy hat and you'll be fine.

Bull. The difference here, my dear Poly, is the history that the Dems have of making excuses for their bad apples. WAA's example of Sandy Berger is a classic example. Is Sandy Berger finished in the Democratic Party? I'm guessing that he is not. Is the Republican Congessman with terror ties finished in the Republican Party? You bet your sweet bippy he is.

Am I willing to link everyone on the Democratic Party to the bad apples they have produced? Nope. But the fact that so many of them have come to the defense of the indefensable tells me a whole lot, not about their connections, but about their character.

Thanks Hawk, I guess there are more of us "not worth a dime of respect" people than Poly thought.

Then you're as much an ignorant ass as Poly is. Any reasonable person can see the point I'm making, and that TL just reinforced, but then expecting you to be reasonable "Bridge of Asses" is asking too much isn't it?

And it appears TL that this point went past Pons and Poly....TWICE.

Flattery won't get you a date with me, sweetie. The point remains that when you have a (R) after your name and you do something bad, you are considered by conservatives to be an aberration. But when you have a (D) after your name and do something bad, you are considered by conservatives to be indicative of a larger problem. It's quite the double standard, considering both parties have their share of political blood on their hands.

This is quite on the mark, judging by the responses to this point.

Pons, your point is unfounded. We are criticizing this congressmen for acts of treason, whether he be Republican or Democrat. I really don't see the double standard you're arguing.

The double standard is in how Democrats are assumed to be worse than Republicans in the area of ethics. Did you not see the gross generalizations throughout the thread?
