oh I am sure you will be feverntly attacking anything bad about the ACLU Nightone. But dispute these facts- the ACLU's founder was quoted as saying he was a socialist and wanted a socialist America with no property rights and the elimination of all religion.
Dispute this the ACLU is defending a case for NAMBLA ( north american man boy love association) under the guise of defending the first ammendment in which NAMBLA has instructions on how men can rape little boys. go ahead dispute it.
The ACLU always attacks religion and defends kiddie porn as free speech.
The ACLU has done much more to destroy this country, religion,parental rights and push legitimization of homosexuality than anyone else. They are the enemy within. They sue everybody they can and feed off other folks money.

I'm not going to dispute you on any of those because I agree.

I'm not for socialism. ANY organization has some people that don't represent the whole group. Al Sharpton doesn't represent all the Democrats and Pat Roberts doesn't represent all the republicans.

Also, the courts have already ruled that some speech is not protected. (like yelling FIRE in a crowded theater)

I also don't support pedophilia or instruction guides on how to do so.

So on these things we agree.

As a whole the ACLU helps defend our Constitutional rights.

The ACLU, defender of NAMBLA, which stands for the North American Man Boy Love Association. Apparently NAMBLA is a pedophile rights group you might say. Basically it is a giant organization of convicted child molesters who got off the hook and never received justice from the law. True story, check it out by searching for the people who the ACLU has defended.

I think that the ACLU tries to protect our rights in a liberal sense. To be honest, they go to far with their interpretation of the constitution. NAMBLA for instance.

what i cannot understand about the ACLU is how can they take away religion when the founding fathers put God into the constitution? the seperation of church and state has done more harm then good :icon_frow

As explained in the book,Persecution by David Limbaugh, seperation of church and state is does not exist, it was something Thomas Jefferson mentioned in a letter that was written several years after the constitution and the Bill of Rights. There is no Seperation of Church and state ever mentioned in the Constitution. Persecution is book I highly recommend. It is 400 pages of how Liberals are trying to destroy Christianity in America. Pages upon pages of rediculous lawsuits filed against Christians.

On a slightly different note, if the ACLU were honest about their agenda, this Would be their slogan.

I would be tempted to defend the ACLU here, if they attempted to defend everyone equally. This is not the case. they won't (well, they haven't lately at least) defended a christian's rights. However, its also very tough to say that they discriminate....they have done everyone from NAMBLA to Klan....perhaps they dont discrimininate with extreamists.
either way, up until a few years ago I was a card carrying member. when the ACLU first came out, it was (or at least tried to pass itself off as) a good idea and organization. but lately it picks and chooses leftist or extreamist controversy simply for the publicity. no longer is it defending my rights, so good day to the ACLU says this ol' man.
