Can't have one China article without the other:

Infanticide in China

Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines Infanticide as (a) the killing of an infant

Due to China's excessive population the government has inacted a one-child policy. In this culture a boy is viewed as a worker, or soldier, while a girl is seen as "damaged goods" so if the parents have to pick they will kill the girl. When the Communists took over in the mid-1900s they abolished the practice, but in the 1980s census started showing an upward trend of "missing" female children. This practice has killed off millions of girls. This horrible autrocity is occurs on a daily basis since the government does nothing to stop it and in rural areas girls are abandoned if the parents so desire. How is this going to affect China and it's population?

For one it will evetually cause a severe implosion in their population. The sex ratio is so low that several million men will not have a wife. These men will grow old and probably die around the same time which will cause a shift in the age groups. It will also kill off several ancient families which is very ironic because the boy is spared since he will carry the family name and honor, but then is hindered because he can't find a mate.

This will also affect their military because if they have a population drop and they are low on women then where will they get their next warriors? The rest of the world also helps provide the Chinese with food because they can only harvest food on 10% of the land, the rest you are unable to grow anything on. In the future this mega-drop in the population will affect many economies since you see "Made in China" on most goods nowadays.

With such a low sex ratio and the country in turmoil, how will the Chinese get women to repopulate? They can't abolish it anymore than they did 50-years ago becaus the people won't obey. Will they invade a country? Doubtful. The most likely will be kidnapping and human smuggling. Human smuggling will help them, but cause stress and tension in other regions. Not to mention that many of those being smuggled will perish on their way to China.

Another twist that just hit me is that what about homosexuality? Their is such a low sex ratio and the people (mainly men) live close together I wouldn't be surprised that these people may move to homosexuality. If this were to come to pass diseases such as AIDs would run rampant through the country. This epidemic would definately control their population, but also threaten other countries who associate with them. China has their double-edged sword right to their heads and they have some serious decisions to make. For one, they are trying to build their military while their population is teetering on the verge of destruction. Could China, and not the US, be the next Roman Empire and be the ones who fall on their faces?

If they fall what will happen to the world? This economic power falling would be like dropping a pebble into a pond. Everyone will feel the ripple, but for good or bad. Who knows? To me China looks like a balloon; looks real big and bad, but all it takes is a little prick and it will blow up and be done.

Oh please God let it be true! </prayer>

If China were to bring about its own extinction I would cheer ceaselessly for weeks. Whatever serves to hinder and destroy China, I consider a gain. KSig, this article truly touched my heart. I can't thank you enough, the optimism inside me rose slightly.

At this rate, we can see "Made in USA" more often!

Whoever wrote this is an idiot. I'm in no way defending China, but this is nothing but a bunch of assumptions.

Actually, it makes sense. What else makes sense? That as China's gene pool shallows out, you will see more inbreeding and all the genetic problems that follow it. The Chinese poison our kids, but purposely make theirs retarded.

I could see that happening. Communism does not mesh well with Traditionalism of ANY brand, and especially the Chinese.

I personally think that the US will be the next Roman Empire. We are on a downward spiral.

And you know what pisses me off more than anything? People who worry about the genocide in Darfur, killing some baby dolphins, etc but don't care about the unborn babies being murdered here, and the starvation that people are going through in this country.

I saw a video of an actress crying because a baby dolphin was killed. Would she cry for the more than 40 million babies that have been killed due to abortion? Probably not.

Eh sorry for the rant but it's so annoying.

aR we are becoming a Rome, that's why China needs to hurry up and die first so that this country will experience an economic Renaissance and remain on top.

First off, to dispel any nonsense about genetic diversity in the gene pool... we could reduce the human population to less then 1,000 and there would be no issue with inbreeding. The only reason we see the effects of inbreeding in the European royalty and animal stock is because of the very limited numbers and intertwining of the family trees within two or three generations.

He is correct in saying that the Chinese population is going to shrink. From 2015ish and on we'll see a declining population. Of course this is due to population controls, it's why they put them in place.

Now all the garbage begins. Chinese abducting women for wives? Uh huh, how do you rebuke this pointless nonsense? Homosexuality rising? Maybe, but that has nothing to do with AIDs as the majority of cases in developing countries are from heterosexual sex. Also you should note that China already has an AIDs epidemic, they just don't talk about it. If you're going to the next Olympics wear a rubber if you find a Chinese woman.

It is true that there are way more men than women now in China but I say who cares it is their own fault. I would like to have a son first too but I'm not going to kill my own daughter if I had one first. My English teacher from high school and his wife have adopted 3 girls from China already and they are cute kids. They are going to realize their mistake in the long run since they don't value female children that much.

On the other hand, this is not going to bring on more homosexuality because people do not choose to be gay. They are born that way and they can't help it. If I couldn't find a good man, I just couldn't decide to become gay. That is ridiculous and you know it.

Well, I think that some of these Chinese men will end up coming to the U.S. in order to find wives. I think it is the only appropriate thing for them to do since many of the babies that were given up for adoption were to families in the U.S. This is not going to bring about their own extinction, but perhaps, to teach them to value female life just as much as male life.

There are no facts to back up my skeptism just as there are no facts for the author to support his claim.

There are no facts to back up my skeptism just as there are no facts for the author to support his claim.I took facts and made some conclusions with it.

I'm just trying to get some dialogue going about the subject, not the author (me). How about you give your idea or reason about why its wrong. And saying that it is just an assumption is just lazy...so put some thought into it.

I must admit that I'm contradicted on my thoughts on China. On one hand, they obviously violate human rights. Also, from my understanding they have been secretly building up their military - mostly with profits from business with the U.S. - and plan on attacking us.
On the other hand, I think it is wrong of us to become threatened by another world power. They have shown no reason for us to be threatened by them. Also, they have softened their stance on human rights in recent years and are becoming a more capitalistic economy.

My reason on why the blog is wrong is because its just not realistic. The idea of homosexuality rising is unfounded because if there is a lack of women, there are many other sources of women around the world (sorry to make women sound like property). Then the idea of them invading other countries for women is just as stupid. There's just no foundation to the claim. I'll entertain the idea of human smuggling for sex occuring, but thats going to happen anyways. If Chinese men need women to procreate, then there are many women in impoverished countries surrounding China who would love to marry a successful Chinese man.

A-MEN to that Brother Madd!

China is an OUTRIGHT MOCKERY of Capitalism. It is otherwise-capitalist companies using the communist economic system to their own gain. It is like companies are saying "yeah, the labor in capitalist countries doesn't work for us, so we're going to start courting communism instead."

If a company did this in those fun anti-red days of the 1950s, I think an angry mob would form outside corporate headquarters and the CEO who made the China decision would be killed by this mob.

WE are the ones allowing China to become a superpower. WE are the ones who hold the power to stop China. WE created the monster, and WE are the ones with the power to vanquish it.

So-called "capitalist trade" in China is really communists' best argument against capitalism. Because basically our trade with China reflects laying down capitalism at the feet of communist overlords. It would be like trading with Soviet Russia.

And worse, since we rely on China so much for trade goods, we've been reduced from Superpower to Satellite.

Nice play on words, but I was thinking more like Poland to the Soviet Union.
