The stream - not a great pic, but it winds between the trees about 140 yards down to this:

A 9' drop in 3 steps... this is the water fall I am working on at the moment.... should be done and running in a few weeks... for now all the water is on a bypass pipe underground.

another angle...

This is what everything runs in to when it's running properly. Right now the water is bypassed into a sluice box and pumped back to the top pond (about 30' up, and 320 yards back). normally it fills this pond which is slightly larger than the top one, but not nearly as landscaped right now.

At the bottom of the main waterfall there is going to be a traditional Japanese garden with a 60,000 gallon Koi pond with an island chain in it.

Here is an overview of the entire property. the trees in the midground are where the waterfall is, the large trees in the background are around the top pond.

I'll take more pics as things happen.

Wow! That is a mega project. Anxious to see the final project.

It's pretty major for the resources we have, but it's not a MEGA project.... My dad's worked on a few mega projects with multi-million (up to several billion) dollar budgets that make this look like playing in a sand box. Big power plants, especially hydroelectric ones tend to run in the $500M + range. This is no where near that - a tiny fraction of a fraction :P

Of course, on that note we still have 4 lots for sale, btw ... if any of you want to be my neighbor :P

Mr Glass, you didn't show my cabin in the trees. You have built it haven't you? You know, the one with a wrap around porch and central air.

Looks like a great project. You're a talented man. We expect more pictures when its finished and running. Oh and by the way, that waterfall in right beside my cabin isn't it?

That's not "your" cabin, Wadi. It's mine.

Bee we've been friends a long time, do you REALLY want to start a fight over this? No? Then we can still be friends and you can come visit. :icon_smil

So we'll be neighbors, good. I'll come to your house to watch the sunset, you can come to mine to enjoy the waterfall.

All I want is a tower laboratory close to the heavens to continue my experiments.

:icon_cry: And I thought I had done so well with my little veggie garden this year. Doug's project puts me to shame. Woe is me. I'm going to go and drown myself in my pond, which is basically a very large bucket with a little teenie weenie pump that shoots water out of the mouth of a leaping frog sculpture.

Woe is me. Woe is me.

Hey TL, it has to start somewhere. Please don't drown yourself in a bucket :)

post pics of your garden, we'd love to see it.

Honestly, TL, that sounds absolutely charming... Put a little table out there and serve breakfast under the sky. Sounds absolutely charming.
