If it was Hillary Clinton vs Rudy Giuliani in 2008, who do you think would win the state of New York? Would it stay with the Dems, as it usually is, or would the Republicans have a chance, considering that Rudy was mayor of NYC and most counties upstate lean toward conservative.

Hillary is a socialist, and Giuliani is a proven leader.

It would no doubt be a very close race.

I'm going to have to agree with Bumbles on this one. Giuliani would win. Not only because he turned New York City completely around, but also what he did after 9/11...It's proven leadership, and remember, New Yorkers have been voting for Republican mayors as of late, and Giuliani was THEIR mayor, as they say. And if you've won NYC, you've won the biggest battle in New York. If it weren't for NYC, Republicans would win every time.

I think Rudy would win. I think he is very popular among the people of New York. People really like him. I don't think they really like Hillary. I think they just sort of put up with her.

This is why I keep saying that Rudy might not be the perfect candidate, but he might be the best we have and he certainly has a chance at winning.

the reason i ask is that if a Republican won New York, then the race would pretty much be over from the start. California would be the only state with a large amount of electoral votes that the Dems would win. Possibly Florida..but i doubt it.

I'm rooting for Rudy. Although he's liberal on social issues, as IHL has said, he'd be much better than hillary or obama. but its not like the president has control over issues like abortion and gay marriage anyway. any changes in abortion would probably be a supreme court issue and marriage is decided by the states. the only problem that might come up is if the democrats retain control of the house and senate...they could pass gun control laws and rudy wouldn't veto.

i don't get why the dems have like two well known canidates everywhere and the republicans are yet to really make an impact, what are we waiting for?

What are we waiting for?

NEWT. That's who we're waiting for. Does he have some personal baggage? Sure, but every politician does. The key to Newt is, he has REAL ideas, that follow the Constitution and hold to true to America's conservative history. I'm telling you, this man is brilliant and he has great ideas for America.

Please, do yourself a favor and read his book! The link for the book is in my signature, "Winning the Future."

Go to his website, www.newt.org, it's a great place to learn about his ideas.

Also, watch this speech if you've got spare time!

I would vote for Giuliani in a mili-second. If it came done to those two, since I personally believe Hillary to be the Anti-christ, and the precurser to Armageddon. Though that's just me. New Yorkers may feel different.

Hillary Clinton is not the Antichrist, but she's in league with those who are. The Anti-christ is not a single person. We're looking at it wrong. The Anti-Christ is a group of people, and they are in New York. You know that mirror-sided building with all the flags out in front of it?
