I Think that there should be some sort of gun related forum, like the mighty righty enjoys, maybe a "second amendment forum". Just my opinion, whatever you think i would like to know.

Good idea. Those damn liberals are always yelling at us about us violating the constitution by hampering free speech or imposing religion. But at the same time they have no problem taking our guns away. Even though it says clearly in the Constitution that we have the right to bear arms.

LOL!!! Hey jackalope you realize that only people from our area know the true meaning of term "hoosier"!! My guess would be that most people here don't get it!! But I do, and you're right!!

Yea, in St. Louis being called a hoosier is not something to be proud of. Basically it means you're very lazy and stupid. It all started back when there was a strike at the Chrysler Factory. So what did we do? We fired everyone and got a bunch of guys from Indiana to take their place. After awhile we realized that holy crap, these guys from Indiana are the worst workers ever. So that is why to us St. Louisans the word Hoosier means lazy.

It also conveys a meaning of uneducated, unsophisticated, ill-mannered people.
But thanks Guns... I had no idea of the "original" meaning!! Seems like it's evolved in negativity over the years!

Hoosiers may be uneducated, drunken, slobs with no respect for the law, but they can be quite funny. Example:

The sherif of Reynolds Country Missouri (a rural country about 100 miles outside of St. Louis) has an arrest record for running dogs (poaching using dogs for the hoosier-illiterate). Talk about a wonderful lawman.

You get into rural Missouri (and I imagine rural anywhere) and you get all kinds of stupid stuff like that. There are millions of deer in St. Louis country, but it's hard to find any in the rural areas for the all the spotlighting (poaching by shining a high powered spotlight on a deer, then shooting it). And of course they're drunk while they do this (beer and guns, sounds like a night on the town, yee-haw!)

Still, the protect the center of the country, bless their racist hearts.

I refer to them as rednecks. There is a difference. Hoosiers are lazy and stupid. A redneck can also be lazy and stupid but enjoys driving a red Ford pickup with a gun rack in the back and killing any animal he may see on the side of a highway.

Are Hoosiers racists? I just imagined that a redneck was.

PS If someone calls you a Hoosier, execute him on the spot. If someone calls you a redneck, shake their hand and take them to the nearest nudie bar.

I have never heard the word "hoosier". It sounds a lot like "hooligan" though and the meanings are slightly similar. It is probably just a regional thing.

Yea Cognitive, hoosier is term in St. Louis only. Worse than a hooligan. Only thing worse than a hoosier is probably an inbred hillbilly.

From the way you talk about it, hoosier sounds like a seriously offensive term that can incur violence. I have no idea what that is like. Nothing you can do or say to anyone here will cause them to become angry. Flip them off, use the greatest expanses of your special vocabulary, whatever. All they do is laugh or shrug their shoulders.

You live in an area that is culturally active. The people there can still feel emotion. I went down to Texas this summer, and my brother was suprised that the people in the Burger King drive up window said "Have a nice day". You never hear that around here. You drive up the guy in the window says with a frown "22.50". You give him the money, he gives you the food, you drive off. And here was this guy in Texas who said "How are you doing?" when you drove up. Do people really matter anymore, or are they just pointless soulless beings that only have worth as much as they give you something? As you can tell, I hope to be able to get away from this spiritual, cultural wasteland someday. Hopefully it will remain stable until I get there.
