I think 360 will sell better, PS3 will definitely have better games but they'll be so damned expensive.
You forgot the one console I'm gonna get. The Wii. Granted the name is retarded, Revolution was much much better, but its a powerful system with a smaller price-tag and great options. I think its the rebirth of the N64.
Plus Super Mario Galaxy looks AMAZING.
Originally I wanted the PS3, but its too expensive. Next, I wanted the 360, then I realized I only really wanted it for Halo 3. So I started researching the Wii, and its definitely the one that looks best for me.

your right i forgot about the wii, i agree with you that it will sell a lot of units with its cheap price tag and fun games, but the 360 will be first in sales because of its graphical power and a year jump on competition.

There is no way in hell that PS3 has better games it's Assassins Creed and Killzone vs. Halo 3, GTA 4, Call of Duty 3, Gears of War, Splinter Cell Double Agent, and Rainbow Six 3: Las Vegas. Yes, I realize that some of these games are on multiple consoles, but the fact that the Xbox 360 has Xbox Live, a smaller price tag, and only a subtle difference in HD graphics the games are better on the Microsoft console.
Just so you know your choice of the :mad:Wii:mad: makes me want to puke (no offense)

The battle of the Christmas Holiday, again, is going to be between Sony and Microsoft. The grand 360 vs. the beautiful PS3. Both systems are cutting edge, state of the art, and all that jazz. But the bottomline is that you're getting two very similar products with a price difference of roughly $300-400 dollars. That, first of all, is ridiculous. A basic 360 package runs $300, while the kickass pack runs $400. While the PS3 is reportedly going to be in the range of $600-700, which for a GAMING CONSOLE is retarded. If you're willing to spend that much money just for gaming, take that money get on dell.com or hp.com and order yourself a freaking computer.
Now as far as the games go. When the Xbox and PS2 came out, the Xbox was a better system, but the PS2 beat the crap out of Microsoft's Box with the huge variety of games. Not to mention the PS2 was also backwards compatible, making all of the original PS games playable on the new system in turn doubling the amount of available games. Now, the only reason why the Xbox held it's ground over the Christmas Holiday is because of one reason: Halo. Risky for sure, supporting the future of your new gaming system on one leg. Though Sony came close a few times, it never managed to create any game that could compete on the same level as Halo. This game was the keystone in Xbox making itself a true contender.
Now in the years past, Microsoft has started to listen and learn from its debut mistakes and if you listen to the gaming community you've probably heard about some of the most jaw-droppingly beautiful games and also some of the new feature on the system. It seems as though Microsoft is starting to listen to it's consumers and they have created multiple legs for the 360 to stand on, with Halo 3 not due out until next year. So because of this response to consumer suggestions, the 360 is going to beat out the PS3 in the area of new games.
Now don't get me wrong I'm a Sony fan too. They've been in the industry forever and have dealt out some amazing games and systems, but I think that their ridiculous price tag is going to prevent them from dominating an otherwise heated Holiday season pushing Xbox to the top of the heap.:sleep1: :sleep1:

In the end I bet the Xbox will come out on top for this product cycle. The price tag for the ps3 does come with a two year subscription to their online service, but at this point not much is established that is going to be on it.
I'm just about ready to go and buy a 360 just to play double agent. Mmmm sleep hold and body shield action.

Wait a few more weeks and get an 8000 series Nvidia GPU and a high end PC....
I have a 7950 GX2 that beats the pants off any console system out there.

Actually, he is 100% correct. The Video cards available for computers are far advanced compared to anything they throw into consoles.
The 7950's GPU is about as powerful as the console itself, and the Geforce 8800 GTX could outproduce 2 360's working together.
Glass, by 7950 GX2 did you mean you have 2 7950's running in SLI?
If so, I heard that a single 8800 GTX could beat 2 7950's running SLI, do you know if its true?
What was your 3dmark 06 score?

A computer is as fast as it's slowest part. Depends on what else is in the computer.

Thats true, but speaking only Graphics wise computers in general have consoles beat.
I think my AMD 4200+ 64 bit daul core, 1 gig of DDR 667 MHZ RAM, XFX 7900 GS OC'ed 595 Core 1.68 GHZ memory can handle most consoles. And better systems CERTAINLY can.
