Unfortunately many of the liberals have attempted to post threads the are almost entirely argumentative and not substanative in their nature. So I bring the question to you...

Should IHLs allow liberals to post and become members of the site?

I'm fairly new here, but here's my response.....

I like to hear what "intelligent" and "well-informed" liberals have to say. For a liberal just to post a one-sentence response with profanity and insults is not very welcoming or productive for debate. Plus, the website clearly a conservative one, and the liberals seem to forget they are guests, and they forget the manners that go along with being a guest!

HC, most of the posts that I've described have been deleted and the users banned. We both know they were here. So should we have to go through the trouble of babysitting those that act like children and seek to cause trouble?

On the other hand, do we all want to just hear from those that agree with us? What purpose does that serve?

Personally I like to read the "how" and "why" liberals think the way they do (which is sometimes hard to get).
I believe we should remain calm in our responses, as we always do, and watch them become all flustered and outraged as when we present facts that continue to prove them wrong every time. :biggrin:

I don't think they should be banned or their posts deleted. Banning and deleting posts is something the liberals would do to conservatives on liberal sites. I do however use the "ignore" feature often, but mostly for the extreme lefties. However other users seem to quote them so I see their posts most of the time anyway.

I feel that the IHL forum is better for having liberals post here. To silence the opposition is to have something that is fake, and frankly not enjoyable. After all, does anyone really want to emulate the democratic underground? (puke, puke)

For the same reason that trust is better than control, and free speech is better than forced compliance, an opposing voice helps to affirm what we all know as the greater school of thought. :icon_mrgr

Nate, I basically agree with you and have always said I welcome opposing viewpoints. However, the minimal rules that I have implemented on this forum will be enforced. Unfortunately with more people visiting the site, things get out of hand quickly.

And HC, while I don't feel the need to explain myself to you I'll make one exception. I deleted your post for that very reason I just discussed - it was off topic. You started discussing creationism which has nothing to do with this topic. And to be fair I also deleted Iamright's response to your post. That's it. Any reponse to this post that is equally off topic will also be deleted.

Double U, as a moderator I dislike having to delete posts. Sometimes its necessary to maintain a level of civility between posters. Sometimes the language is simply rank. Ideas however, even though I diagree with them, should not be deleted if presented properly, i.e, language and civility. Its the exchange of ideas that creates a better world.

As a Constitutional Conservative I disagree with just about everything Liberals believe. Sorry liberals, been there done that, bought the T-shirt and the video. Surprisingly enough, some of the views/complaints liberals have are valid, but they present it all wrong which makes it almost impossible for conervatives to accept. Yet on the other hand, they continually try to re-invent the wheel. Sometimes conservatives are so loyal to the conservative agenda, they fail to see the fallacy of that agenda.

I will address each of the paragraphs you posted

First, I thought my response was rather witty - your so called questions were smothered in layers of biased insults. And hey, I’m older than seven!!

Second, if you haven’t figured it out by now – this is a “conservative” site. We tend to post “conservative” comments, articles and links. (duh)

Third paragraph is a joke. Don’t even try to compare the Bush administration to the Clinton administration when it comes to questionable activities in the White House. Did you just start paying attention to politics in Jan 2001?

Fourth, after ignoring more insults, please refer to my “Second” response. This is a “conservative” site. Trust me, all conservatives here are well informed of liberal views because we are inundated everyday in the MSM, radio, music, movies, etc…..

Neo is one of the first liberals to visit the site. I've warned Neo a few times and even banned him for awhile and he settled down a bit. Reading his posts on this site are actually quite amusing. I still don't quite have him figured out. He is either a master of satire and trying to prove his absurd points with absurdity, or he is actually as demented as his posts indicate. Either way, he does provide a bit of comic relief if you allow yourself the pleasure of letting it happen.

Don't take Neo too seriously and enjoy his time while it lasts. (Ageing Baby Boomers retiring all at once and wanting to get social security benefits) + (fewer workers paying into the system [roughly 3 workers per 1 person on SS])= BROKEN!

I used to go on moveon.org and post rebuttles to statements made in thier action forum. I never cursed or became abusive in my posts but after the third time I posted my post mysteriously disappeared and I found that I could no longer post in there anymore. Liberals always cry freedom of speech and sue if they are censored or chastised, but they have no problem with silencing opposing view points. They are nothing but lousy hippocrits. But we are better than they are and we should not stoop to thier level. Let them post as long as they can behave themselves.
