Early this month, it was reported that the federal deficit dropped $250 Billion. Since then, it has been virtually ignored.
The Bush Administration has done what it said it would about the deficit three years ago, and has done it a full three years early, and that is in half the time predicted.
The economy is strong and still growing, but I saw a poll that read 70% of the people don't even know that.
Despite the costs of the Iraq War, the rest of the War on Terror, Katrina relief, and not nearly enough control over other spending.
Read here (www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/10/06/ap/business/mainD8KJ9VH80.shtml) how that goal was achieved so early.

Do you know how much Bill Clinton cut in defense spending while he was President Sodie???
He had the Armed Forces spread so thin it was sick. One of my cousins was in the military in the 90s and he said that they put Bill Clintons picture in the urinals and pissed on him.
Plus Sodie, something happened in 2001...umm one day in September changed the way our country looks at threats and terrorism. If all that needs explaining, then umm idk...

Anyone bother to ask how high he brought it up? Or how much of the debt we still owe to China for financing Iraq? Under Clinton the budget was completely balanced and we still fought conflicts in Somalia and the balkans.
Anyone ask Clinton how he cut and run in Somalia? We didn't FIGHT in Somalia. We made an appearance, got our nose bloodied and fled like a cur.
What people fail to understand is that if the budget is balanced under a democrat, it's because the taxes bled the people dry.
The Clinton era was a financial bubble, in large part because of the Internet. The stock market started its collapse well before Bush took office. Billions of dollars were lost for investors because of the dot com bubble. George Bush inherited a major recession. Those are indisputable facts - look them up.
In the week following 9/11, over 1 million people lost their jobs and cost our economy billions of dollars The Enron scandal cost millions.
And lets not forget about the war.
Despite all of these negative events, we still have new highs in the stock market, record employment, historically low interest rates, almost non-existent inflation.
The tax cuts have brought in record revenues, contrary to the prediction of liberals and the deficit has been reduced far beyond anyone's expectation. But still - the libs try to spin it as bad news.
Only one problem Sodie. Those pesky facts get in your way.

My uncle was a 1st Lieutenant in the Air Force but he had to leave during the Clinton administration because Clinton cut the size of his entire division in half and then in half again basically destroying the fighting force. That was just the Air Force, now most of the military spending has been an effort to rebuild what Clinton eliminated in order to 'balance the budget'.

Yes, a military that President Reagan had built during the Cold War. He cut back not only the military, but the CIA.
I also remember how Al Gore and the Democrats wanted to bar the military vote during the election of Gore and Bush W.

That's because Liberals don't believe in fighting anything but little cuban children, religious cults, and gunowners.

Wow, this was all over the news. (sarcasm). It's amazing how much the news refuses to print stories about the economy doing anything good. They have no problem saying how "terrible" it is, but when something good happens, it is as if they are blind. The liberals have many, many Americans eating out of their hands as they feed Americans lies about a worsening economy.
