View Full Version : Gore isn't quite as green as he's led the world to believe

Al Gore has spoken: The world must embrace a "carbon-neutral lifestyle." To do otherwise, he says, will result in a cataclysmic catastrophe. "Humanity is sitting on a ticking time bomb," warns the website for his film, An Inconvenient Truth. "We have just 10 years to avert a major catastrophe that could send our entire planet into a tailspin."

Graciously, Gore tells consumers how to change their lives to curb their carbon-gobbling ways: Switch to compact fluorescent light bulbs, use a clothesline, drive a hybrid, use renewable energy, dramatically cut back on consumption. Better still, responsible global citizens can follow Gore's example, because, as he readily points out in his speeches, he lives a "carbon-neutral lifestyle." But if Al Gore is the world's role model for ecology, the planet is doomed.

For someone who says the sky is falling, he does very little. He says he recycles and drives a hybrid. And he claims he uses renewable energy credits to offset the pollution he produces when using a private jet to promote his film. (In reality, Paramount Classics, the film's distributor, pays this.)

Public records reveal that as Gore lectures Americans on excessive consumption, he and his wife Tipper live in two properties: a 10,000-square-foot, 20-room, eight-bathroom home in Nashville, and a 4,000-square-foot home in Arlington, Va. (He also has a third home in Carthage, Tenn.) For someone rallying the planet to pursue a path of extreme personal sacrifice, Gore requires little from himself.

Yeah but he's rich and a democrat. So the rules don't apply to him of course.

Stop being so nieve GRC!

Right. Gore hangs his undies out on a clothesline to dry. Gosh, I can hardly wait till he runs for office again. Laughter is so good for the soul.

And now it's time for Dr. Madd's lecture on the dangers of Al Gore being released on the environment.

1. He's anti-gun, which blocks population control of herbivorous species in areas where Predators are ineffective at keeping things in check. Therefore,
Al Gore offsets the food chain simply by being.
2. His hot air releases more greenhouse gases than Russia, China and the United States put together. If we want to avert Global Warming , we have got 1 year to stuff a sock in his mouth and issue a court order forbiding him from speaking.
3. His film is a waste of dead trees, a la celluloid, and so are his books. Al Gore is not eco-friendly.
4. He's also an eyesore if he really hangs out his unmentionables to be seen by the world.

And here I thought you left. More words that had no meaning.

Gore served in Vietnam for what? 3 months?

The Internet is a product of the Gore family? :roflmao1:

Come clean Yukon. You aren't really a priest are you. You are a professional comedian, right? You'd have to be.

Al Gore had as much to do with the Internet as I had to do with the last NASA shuttle flight.

You live in a fantasy world. You have become a laughing stock here. Keep it up. I can't even make up the sort of illusions that are your reality.

Haha, your number two resembles my post in GRC's WJD Results. I had also posted that before reading this. Strange...

awww..yes he diiiiddddd...goood boyyyy....good boy AL!

other than coining the phrase "information superhighway" and being a large part of the legislation that supported the growth of the internet, gore had nothing to do with its technical invention...but i take it you already know that and just enjoy taunting these fine young lads. carry on.

This is what I was thinking ET. If Gore DID have something to do with the internet, then it was more something like legislation and had nothing to with the actual technical creation of it. This is just like the myth that Apple invented the GUI-Apple was the first to have it and use it, but it was actually created by the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC).

You know what, I think I know how it really is now: Al Gore was the first person to have internet in his house. Therefore he created it!:icon_lol:

Love the picture!

alright, youre welcome to interpret his quote however you like, but i thinks its fairly absurd. find me a politician who has never made a vague, poorly worded statement.
