====.

I'm ====ed unless you guys can help me.

Okay, so here's the deal.

My computer will not let me play my music in iTunes. It says that the files can't be found, which means they most likely got wiped out.

But I can still play my music on my iPod. Is there any way that I can get the music on my iPod restored to my computer?

plug your ipod into your computer via USB or firewire

open up my computer it should be a temporary drive

open the drive and copy the files and paste to your desktop/mydocuments wherever

yah, it should act kinda like an external hardrive, so you should be able to copy over the files. Are you sure all your music got wiped out? If you are using XP, try searching for just music, just hit the X next to music and hit search.

step 1:download spybot search and destroy
step 2: download Ad-Aware SE
step 3: download AVG anti Virus

Run all 3.

Search your hard drive for your music. Unless you have a SERIOUS virus and spyware problem, there is no way it would have been deleted unless a human being did it.
If you plug in yoru IPOD you SHOULD be able to get it to act as an external data storage device, but don't count on this for sure. Apple would have to stop sucking wang long enough to put that into the code.

Step 4: Put Linux on your IPOD.

Ya once you know your files arnt hidden and/or you don't have a worm issue I would try what Shotdrops said, its worked for me many times. However, after you have the files on your computer from the iPod, iTunes will still not recognize the music. So, what you need to do is open up iTunes, click File, then "Add Folder to Library", then find the file you copied from your iPod with the browser, select it, and click "Add". This should then allow you to access your music through iTunes, wheras just on your desktop, encryption prevents the music from being played.

sounds to me like your library or database file got corrupted , or maybe was moved or disassociated with your copy of itunes. maybe do a file search for a song you know you have and if you find the library, re-associate it through itunes preferences, or just drag the entire folder back into the itunes window. usually its supposed to be in your my documents folder under music
