I haven't really posted much because I'm not the great at debating for my side or adding any extra content. Do you guys have any tips on how to debate well or defend a position? All my buddies are "libertarian" (aka liberal) and constantly poke at me for Christian/Republican beliefs.

Here's a tip WNP, listen to the views and issues that are dominant in this forum, then do your own research on those issues and views, look at both sides, and don't be afraid to ask us questions about politics you don't know. :)

Welcome WNP.

Well, first off

Tip #1: To a debate or when debating, bring a russian made automatic rifle and wave it around hysterically while shouting ALALALALALALALALA!
(Mud on the face and fanatical religious beliefs should help as well)

And that should do it.

on a more serious note, hanging around here sure helps. As well as checking sites for news (stay away from *spit CNN *spit*)

Also, IHL has links posted on the home screen which offer a wealth of knowledge on current events.

All my buddies are "libertarian" (aka liberal) and constantly poke at me for Christian/Republican beliefs. How do you conclude that libertarians are liberals? They are practically polar opposites. In fact, libertarians are more Conservative than most Republicans. Perhaps your friends are wearing the name incorrectly (Note: I am not a Liberarian).

Hmm.. So if those are the tactics of the left, what would the tactics of the Right be?

Polar opposites?

Spell debation right.

Because libertarians believe that people should be able to do whatever they want. Such as drug use, abortion, gay marriage, etc. Why do you think their names are so similar to liberal? They are social liberals.

Libertarians are considered to be economically Conservative, and socially Liberal. The fine difference between them and liberals is that when it comes to those issues, it isn't based off a moral decision; rather it is derrived from the law of the Constitution and for reasons on being against government control.
