ted junker an 87 year old man is being denied the right to open a memorial. granted it is for the nazis but he was one of them. he served in ss during ww2 on the russian front. i dont care what he is pushing his memorial for he has the right to say as he wants, he was brave enough to fight for his country and sure he lost, but its his history and he has the right to perserve it. they portray what he is doing as a hitler memorial (it is not) and attributting false quotes to him, something along the lines of him denying the holocaust according to some jewish orginization, although the artical never quotes him as saying such. i hate political correctness. history needs to be remembered for both the good and the bad, and its not like hes even pushing for nazism. this man has been a citizen for 51 years and has no past record (according to the artical) and simply trying to remember what he fought for.

He wasn't just a German fighting for his country. He was an SS. They were the ones who were loyal to Hitler, they were members of the Nazi Party. They were the ones who massacred hundreds of thousands of Russians. You ever hear of the Einsatzgruppen? SS mobile killing squads in Russia. This man wasn't a "German" soldier forced to fight for the Nazis. He was a willing Nazi participant in the slaughter of thousands.

And if he is loyal to his country like you say, then why is he here?

i have been to a war musem by my house and they have a nazi memorial, well they have a memorial for all the soldiers, but its history, its this mans past i dont think he should be denied to honor it esp when he has the freedom of speech and to peacefully assemble.

They have a "Nazi" memorial? Or just a "German" memorial?

Regardless, they are our enemy. If this bastard is so proud of his heritage as a murderer, maybe he should go back to Germany.

I kind of find it ironic that a man who fought against American values is now exploiting them for his own gain.

the nazis never attacked us the japs did. they went to war with us because we went to war with japan. and its not "exploting" when he is given the same things that you and i have. thats what america is about getting a new start regardless of who you are. he fought for his country and probally served honorably. he was never convicted of war crimes, so you labeling him as a murderer is false. and they nazis were our enemies not germany. and germany currently is our ally.
