Look guys, I don't like illegals as much as the next guy, but its a fact that you don't take millions of workers out of your labor force on a whim.
We need to allow more legal immigrants into this nation, cut back some of the God forsaken redtape, and start trying to fix the problems we created with NAFTA.
Don't make all the aliens citizens, but the "guest worker" program doesn't strike me as a bad idea.

I freaking HATE NAFTA (and up and coming CAFTA)...my dad lost his job as a direct result of NAFTA. That was the stupidest economic thing this country has ever allowed. Another one of Clinton's "wonderful" creations (yes, I know that Bush Sr. laid the foundation...screw him too :icon_mrgr )

That is not a bad idea...I could live with a guest worker program...hell since America is getting lazier by the generation. But there should be strict guidelines for these people...i.e. different taxes, having to learn English, self insurance...etc... If these people want to come into the US and work, they should have to play by the same damned rules that us citizens have to play by....
But I don't think that would rid illegal immigration that much...too many would see it as more beneficial just to continue to work under the table and send their earnings back to Mexico....of which I don't like...but what the hell can I do about it.

Actually it was Reagan who first invented the idea. He didn't draft the thing, of course, but he certianly thought up the idea...the idea is good. Its just what we put out on paper that is utter sh*t.

Lovetoski: All things considered... Yes! I'm not against the bagpipes, the pageantry, and certainly not against the wearing of the green, but American streets are no place for foreign flags.

Lovestoski: I've got an idea: Automate farming. They are doing it, and well, in places. And where they cannot, we can employ all those unemployed people whose jobs went to ruddy Mexico.
But maybe Jobs going to mexico's not a bad idea: If all the jobs are down there, maybe THEY'll all stay down there.

Nope. You can no longer carry an American flag OR wear patriotic clothing of any kind, including camoflage pants at any school in Oceanside, Ca. In case anyone might not know where Oceanside is, it's in the neighborhood of USMC's Camp Pendleton.
So, the school children of the marines that are serving our country, many who are away fighting in foreign lands, may NOT show any display of patriotism at school (an American school). Want to send little Johnny to school in his My Dad Is A Proud Marine patriotic shirt? Well forget it. That is now "offensive" and may insight violence with mexican students that don't like the red white and blue.
People here are really pissed off. Imagine the anger of our Marines up at Pendleton when their kids are sent home on suspension for wearing something deemed patriotic, and therefore offensive.

There is a man on the radio right now who lost his Marine son in Iraq. This man is crying his eyes out explaining how his son died for our freedom and was burried with the flag that he so loved. Now our flag is being banned and this man's heart is once again broken.
THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! No one should be putting away any American flag FOR ANY REASON! What's next? I'll tell you what's next. The police will receive some threatening message saying that homes displaying the flag will be targeted for attack and we'll be told to fly it at our own risk and some people will be scared and take their flag down.
I'm sure most people on this site already fly a flag in front of their homes. I'd say, get another small one for your desk at work, a couple for your car, one to attach to the grocery cart while shopping....you get the picture.
This is absolute bullshit. Oh....Toro...Toro...Toro *T.L. wags red cape*

You can thank Ted Kennedy for that. He was largely responsible and well known for his support of flag burning.

Well now you're just teasing me namvet. The thought of wrapping Ted Kennedy in a flag and setting it on fire get's T.L. all excited.:icon_lol:
Oh, Oceanside School District just explained why the flag/patriotic clothing is banned. It's now an: "Emotional Weapon"
Great, now we're a nation of sissies. Is'nt it comforting to know that the whole world is watching this?

You're getting me all hot and bothered over here namvet. It is'nt nice to tease me like that. Sometime today I have to get back to work over here and now I'll have visions of kerosene cans dancing in my head.
Well at least we're talking about Ted Kennedy and not Cynthia McKinney. I would'nt want LovetoSki over here thinking that I'm not an equal opportunity arsonist.:icon_wink
