Honestly all the awards that BrokeBack mountain won got me alittle interested to see what all the fuss was about. Despite the objections of my friends I saw the movie.......and I just dont get it. This movie did not deserve a single award. Putting the homosexual content aside for a bit the plot was badly thought out and full of holes. I wasn't even bothered by the few homosexual love scenes. I was more bothered by Jake's acting. He does not make a good rancher. He can't fool me with his forced accent. Heath on the other hand was a very good rancher. It leaves me to wonder if the movie won awards just because of the homosexual content. Much to my amusement it didn't make me feel like homosexuality was right. It showcased how homosexuality can ruin lives. I felt that it showed how homosexual men had urges that COULD be controlled but they CHOSE not too. I will say it did remind us that homosexuals have been physically abused becuase of their lifestyle. I don't support people who would physical harm a homosexual just because they are that way. I don't know anyone who does either. Well these are just my thoughts on the movie, but I do recommend all of you to see it so you can have an informed opinion. I don't want you to just take my word for it.

I'd rather watch "The English Patient" over and over all day and night long before I would watch Brokedick Mountain. Why one may ask? I honestly don't have any desire to watch gay ranchers...I don't understand the need to make the damn thing in the first place, other then to be PC.

I'll wait till 2 months after it comes out and I'll rent it. Ugh.
I wouldn't even waste the $3-4 in rental fees on it. I already know that homosexuality ruins lives and I'm not about to support a corrupt hollywood that promotes immorality and liberalism. Spend your hard earned $$$'s somewhere else.

I went to see it, and if you "go to the bathroom" during the sex scene, and you ignore the fact that it's two guys, it's really pretty good. I had my doubts about it, but I hade to see what all the hub-ub was. I did. 7.90/10 It lost a point for being a romance movie. :sleep1:

"I'll make you an offer you cannot refuse"
Eww. . .
"You come to me, asking me to do a man I do not know. Now I ask you, why must I hump this man?"
Umm. . .
Really disgusting, if you think about it. I don't think homosexuals will take mafia movies.

I voted no, just because as I have said before, Hollywood had to stick it to the red states. Even if the movie is as good as they say in their opinion, they should care what the rest of America feels. The most important part of it for me, was the image of our cowboys.
Yeah, I believe Hollywood wanted to stick it to the red states. Go into the DU and see what fun they are having about this movie at our expense.

I won't see it. Brokeback Mountain is an attempt to bash the red states. I do find it entertaining the things they are saying about this movie. Like, "It's bringing equality and ending opression" or "Finally their [the fags, oops can't say ===] voices will be heard." Oh please, the way these people talk about homosexuals you would think there were "Straights Only" bathrooms. Screw Brokeback Mountain.

LOL, that was pretty funny...but you do know that transgendered "person's" have petitioned for their own bathrooms at places like airports, eating establishments, etc. They give the reason (and I am using a born male going to the other side in this example) that even though they were born male, have male "parts", BUTTT don't associate themselves with the male gender anymore (even though they may not have had "it" cut off yet) they feel uncomfortable in male bathrooms. Now, when they are trying to use the female bathrooms, the females are saying, "Hell no! You might think you aren't a man, but you are still a dude!". And women have every damn right to feel that way. Soooo, now these transgendered, cross-dresser's, etc. feel "disenfranchised" and want their own bathrooms in public places....totally stupid logic...

in st. louis, i did not see one marquee saying this, (homohump mountain), was being shown at any of the theatres. more over, it was very nice to be among those folks back there who will laugh at "homo-antics", (quotes added for my young friend), but take serious issue with the perversions associated with "human sexuality". they, (most of my missouri friends and relatives), get quite animated when these perversions are advertised and then put in our faces and told "it's norrrrrrmal" or told "consenting adults" are above molesting and recruiting young children to ther "cause", they know better.......
p.s. c'mon i know when i said it i had never heard it before but if you know it to be true in your life shout it out... "Homophobe"???? NAWWWWW ever since i was a (small child) i knew i liked (the opposite sex). homo-activists hate that...

You the last time we had separate bathrooms to separate people who were "different" from each other, it was called segregation. Watch, if these transgender people actually do get their own bathrooms, they will scream "segregation".

yes, im reallly liberal, but not so liberal that im going to be blinded by pc ethics.....this movie is NOT that great...really, by the way ang lee directed this film, you would think he was BORED by the setting of this movie...he makes this movie seem so....flat.read slantmagazine.com review of the movie. BEsides, the sex scenes in mulholland drive--the greatest movie of the century, so far--were much more graphic and much more memorable than the ones in this movie.....This movie(brokeback) will go down with the shawshank redemption, all about eve and schindlers list in the category known as " supposedly great films back then, that are not great now".....what a rip.
