Are people still talking about this? Damn, enough already.
Profanity, blood, gore, nudity, sex, and hardcore violence.... These are everyday things at movies. Why should we all of a sudden be offended when the theme is homosexuality? Sure, it's a little creepy. But when you compare Brokeback Mountain to Saw 3, which do you think would be more offensive?
Eaxactly - for some reason to these people a couple of gay guys is more offensive than murder......the f'ed up logic of homophobes.....

why can't we complain LTS? granted they have every right to make a movie, but we have every right to say we hate it.
And to add to that, LTS- If this is about capitalism, then why did they make a movie that only appeal to a small portion of the population.. Nope.. Brokeback was a Secular-progressive propaganda film.

and the f'ed up word "Homophobe" That is a secular-progressive term which insinuates that people who don't like Gays are somehow threatened by them.
I am not afraid of them, nor am I threatened by them. I merely dislike them.

Every industry cares only about making money - thats capitalism.....dont like it then leave. That movie made a ton of money for the company, industry, advertisers and investors. It was a success. Demand creates supply - there was obvioulsy a demand for this type of movie in the country thats why people went to see it.
If you dont like it, dont go see it......but stop complaining about it.....who gives a sh*t if a hollywood company made a movie about gay cowboys.
I will complain about anything I want. It is my right just as much as it is their right to make the movie. I give a shit about Hollywood making gay cowboy movies. My family lives in Texas and everyone there thinks the movie was a big disgrace. If everyone wanted it then why did some states not allow it?

Have you ever heard the term 'Get A Room'. It aplies to gays to. I don't want to see two people kissing and groping each other when I am out in public with my nieces and nephews. Bottom Line. It has nothing to do with being gay. If I want to go see a porno I will go see a porno.
HOMOPHOBE I am not. It would be extemely hard for me to be considering I live in socal and party in Hollywood.

supply and demand is a crappy arguement for this. we have supply for so much crap nobody is demanding. look at internet growth, nobody demanded youtube, nobody demanded myspace, its just about free enteprise, we as americans invent gay crap and people buy it. gay cowboy movie, i heard no protests about wanting one.
Right- you feel disgraced, try living in the state it was based in. i'm as much a hick as anybody and i get alot of crap for it. its stupid
and i like how madd said it, we ain't scared just don't like them. they are sick, messed up and disturbing, but certianly not intimidating

Good point dixie. I hate it when every time I say something about gays I am a homophobe. Well I think they are all heterophobes. They can't stand the fact that we don't feel the same way they do about there sexualality and for that we are afraid of them. Go figure.

I didn't go to the theater to see Bareback Mountain, but my friend Stephen rented it so I watched it with him one night. I was so outraged by that film. I was not outraged by the fact that the men were gay, but I was angry about how the men were adulterers. I think that if you are gay, you should not go off and marry a woman and then cheat on her. It is just so wrong on so many levels to support that movie. I also did not like how they showed one of the gay men flipping his wife over and having anal sex with her when he didn't even ask her permission. You could totally tell she was not into that and it is rude not to ask first. His excuse was that he didn't want any more children, but there were forms of contraception around during the time period that the movie takes place in so that was no excuse. If I had been his wife, I would have gotten up and punched him right after he flipped me over and then I would have left. I would have divorced him. I just really hated this movie and how it makes a joke out of the sanctity of marriage just to show how much these two men were in love with each other. I hated this flipping movie. I have nothing against gay people and have many gay friends, but I will not tolerate it when people cheat on their spouses to be homosexual or if they are so openly flamy that they offend all those around them. Believe me, there are gay people out there who do not support this movie and some of them are my friends. I have a couple of friends who are gay Republicans and they hate this movie as well. We agree that homosexuals should not be broadcasting their gayness accross the world. So I say, be gay but don't be distasteful about it.

Good post wicked. My thoughts exactly. I have lots of gay friends to that went and seen it and left in the middle because it was putting them down, (they said) I mean calm on what a great movie. No wonder everyone hates us in the world. We think it is OK for two married men to go off and have gay sex because after all they are in love and gay. I tell my women all the time, if you have sex with another woman then you are cheating on me and if I am there then kick ass, but don't expect me to marry you.

I'd rather watch "The English Patient" over and over all day and night long before I would watch Brokedick Mountain. Why one may ask? I honestly don't have any desire to watch gay ranchers...I don't understand the need to make the damn thing in the first place, other then to be PC.ooh my gawd its a gay movie?I haven't seen it but I thought it was about a mountain family with a traumatic back injury duh
