Under the suggestion of IHL i have started a new thread here.
Here is my question. What is your favorite 3d modeling software and why?
there are many: zmodeler, blender, maya, povray, 3dsmax... the list goes on.
OF thos i have only tried 4 different ones. one whose name i can not remember.
My favorite one so far has been blender. it has almost everything i could ever want.(it lacks ability to ake clothes, and good chrome).
zmodeler was good ffor a whil, but then i realized how difficult it made things. There was a lack of optionsnewesacry to do good models and animation.
BUt then blender had jsut about everything.
it has
Uv ediutors
leveling
multiple physics engines
subsurf
fluid and soft body sims
lots of lighting options.
more modeling tools than could be couted
auudio and video editors and seqencers
nla editors
graaphical editors
a good bone animation system.
a large online community
open GL rendering
game engine with python scripting abilities
and much more stuff that i dont even know abour or understand.
