The economy is in good shape. Strong. Refreshing. 4.5 MILLION jobs have been created since May 2003, 215,000 last month alone. Last Quarter, the economy grew at 4.3% and has been at that average for more than 2 years. Sales of new homes reached an all-time high in October, more Americans now own their homes, and minority ownership is at an all-time high.Unemployment is at its lowest point, 5%! Lower than it was during the 70s, 80s, and yes the liberal poster boy Bill Clinton's 90s. The Dow Jones Industrial average is nearing the 11,000 point milestone...But liberals want to put spin on these facts, and deny them? I am so glad that the President came out on the offensive in the last few weeks. That's why I love the man...He doesn't take crap from anybody.

The economy is awesome. But the number one reason why liberals hate Bush is because "He ruined the economy." Looks like some needs to pull their head out of their ass.

The doom and gloomers will say anything to make these times look horrid, but what you posted is accurate, that's why you don't see them attacking this post of yours. Nice job on that by the way.
We used to have a guy around here that liked charts and graphs. Well, here ya go: http://www.willisms.com/archives/2005/12/trivia_tidbit_o_233.html
Here's a quote from the link, tells it like it is: "But no matter how fast the economy grows, no matter how hot the housing market is, and no matter how many jobs are created, many Americans still tell pollsters they believe we're in a recession. Meanwhile, based on real world economic indicators, people continue behaving like we're in boom times. Americans also tell pollsters that the overall economy is in terrible shape, but their own personal finances are swell and looking to improve."
I don't know about the rest of you, but my friends, their friends, and my self, are all kicking ass in the money making department. If our economy sucks ass right now, I cant wait till they get better, I will retire in 5 years! :icon_wink

Great post. And, having rebuilt the economy so fast after September 11th, when the markets were closed for weeks, is no small feat. It's a true testament to Bush's leadership. Isn't it funny how the libs will fly directly into the face of facts, and try to completely reverse them?

I'm not an Economist, but here are a few things that might be credited to the Big Guy. Maybe It was in response to his tax cuts that got the ball rolling. We had just took a sucker punch from our Terrorist friends as well as the Dot Com economy folding up, we needed something to happen. So George tried a few things and it looks like they are working. How dare that George Bush! How dare he!!!!
More American Jobs = Better American Economy? Just a thought. But again, not an economist, I bet you ain't either.

besides the already meantioned "tax cuts," what few things did he try? i have a suspiscion that mr. w is just about as responsible for our economy shaping up as billy c. was for the DOW topping 20,000 (as in "not at all.")
and when did i ever say this economic growth was a bad thing? oh, wait.... NEVER. you still didn't convince me that george w. mcbankruptseveralcompanies had any hand in this, but that won't stop the overflow of "obvious connections" i've surely glanced over from coming my way at a later time. ready, set, go...
How is the prez responsible for this? I'll tell you how.
The biggest reason is lower taxes. The liberals blast the "tax cut for the rich" but that is not what it was. It was a tax cut for all the pay taxes. The rich pay in more so they get more of a break. It's simple. The libs know it, but they just love the "tax cut for the rich" saying. They think it makes a case for them. In fact, the tax cut helped the economy significantly. You can't tax your way to prosperity. If we could, it would have been done long ago. That's the biggest one.
I believe this president has also had a lot to do with the fact that we have not been attacked again. That is also huge.
This president made it more attractive for business to invest in new equipment, again via tax law changes. This means business have more money to invest in growth, which means they need more people, hence more jobs.
Inflation has been very low. This also has a lot to do with taxes but also has a lot to do with fear, or lack of it.
Make no mistake that the president has a lot to do with how the economy performs. It is not all in his hands but image if tax rates were up where the liberals wanted them. Right now the highest federal tax rate is somewhere around 37%. That may seem high but during the Carter administration and before, that tax rate was above 70%. At times, it was much higher than that. Imagine working everyday only to have 70% of your money go to the government. It also depends on who the president appoints to key positions, such that the Federal Reserve chairman. Many people believe that person is even more powerful than the president.

i'll agree to that.
as for the tax cut, did that not go into effect yet? i'm pretty ignorant as to when these cuts are implemented cause i definitely haven't seen my share yet.

How much do you make a year?
How much do you pay in to taxes?
Are you married?
Do you have kids? ( living with you )
Are you in the top 10% of tax payers?
How much do you write off?
Have you donated to federal agencies?
bout $70,000 (combined with the wife's $$$)
i pay about a 3rd in taxes, maybe a little more.
married, no kids.
i have no clue which % i'm in.
don't write anything off, though i will be writing off $$$ spent on public transportation to get to my job this tax year.
no, i haven't donated to any FEDERAL agencies.

70,000 with children 0 - 18 is a sign of a tax cut.
you need to find out your %
writing off for transportation is a no-no
start donating to Federal agencies.
have a good credit score and own a house is a plus too
what federal agencies and why is the transportation a no-no?

i received about an extra 1200 in my tax returns due to the tax cuts but i have 2 kids

Any federal agencies basiclly. Always a good sign to show you care.
FEMA/the Crosses/Children orgs.
Transportation always was a taboo subject. The government doesn't look at it but if you job is going to readmit the money to you, the job will get the money.
what is your pension like?
screw that! i'd rather donate to private orgs where i know where the $$$ is going and i'd rather do that out of the goodness of my own heart, not just to get a tax break. giving money to the gov't to get money back smells like pointless to me.
transport seems like a no-go.
pension? not a clue. i don't put $$$ into my 401k so i'm pretty certain there's not much of a pension to speak of.

am i'm also not saying the prez didn't have a hand in the economy's rebirth. i'm sure he did. i don't vote with my wallet though, so the whole thing is less than interesting to me.
I don't think anyone is suggesting voting with their wallet. The question was regarding the presidents effect on the economy, and it is huge.
You don't necessarily receive a rebate check. Most won't. The rate of taxes is cut. As is the tax of dividends and capitol gains. (The money earned on investments.) The liberals hate that one too citing that it is another break for the rich, but the truth is that the majority of investments are made up by 'the little guy'.
Whether the economy is good or not is not just about whether or not you'll recieve a check. It is much bigger than that. I affects peoples standard of living. It affects if they have a job, if they can afford to buy a house. It affects all aspects of life, business, happiness, health, crime. Its effects are far reaching. That, I think - is worth voting for. Or perhaps you'd like to go back to the days of Jimmy Carter with gas lines, 14% interest rates, surging inflation and high unemployment. Is that worth voting for? Is that 'less than interesting' to you?

Hey Jack, the president deserves as much credit for this economy, just as how liberals love to blame him when it goes bad. GEORGE W. BUSH IS SAVING OUR ASSES. LIKE IT OR NOT. i just thought id add that.
