The W.T. is the more conservative of the Washington papers.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Washington_Times

"The Times is generally seen as being politically conservative, particularly on the opinion pages. For example, it usually supports Republican candidates when making political endorsements. It is often cited along with the Fox News Channel and talk radio as epitomizing the conservative media."

So, it's not that surprising to see them write something like that. However, the article is correct: Gun bans most certainly do not work!

I just got it, you thought that the article was by the Washington Post. The WP is very liberal, and it would be a surprise to see that coming from them. The article you posted is by the Washington Times.

If it was a liberal newspaper, that editorial probably wouldn't have been published... I know the Columbus Dispatch, for example, would never call attention to the gun issue unless it's to rail on the "ultra-powerful NRA gun lobby" or the "trigger-happy rednecks armed with terrorist weaponry."

Where are the libs now? Shouldn't they be complaining because their amendment rights are being stiffled? We are all aware of the gun amendment, I won't even quote it. It just goes to show the double standards occuring. It is okay for the libs to do as they please, but when others attempt to conflict with the libs agenda they are seen as "taking away our amendment rights." BBUUULLLLSSHHHH***TTTTT!

Well, that's liberalism for you: they pick and choose to the extent that they consider Thomas Jefferson one of their guiding dead guys. Even though he's about due to punching his way out of his grave and strangling a few liberals by now. It's called bias, and there's no way around it except to hope that they take off their blinders and actually think.
