During the rush
A fellow shopper reaches down to help Josephine Hoffman, 73, as the crowd behind her pushes through and rushes past security guards. Several people went down during the commotion. Crowds gathered at Brandsmart at the Sawgrass Mills Mall where the doors opened at 6 a.m.

Yes, I saw it too. One woman's wig came off when she was knocked down. :icon_lol: Everybody seemed to be running and knocking people down, as soon as the doors opened. Another woman was yelling at the TV cameras, as if they could help. You know the media, they probably loved it.

Same here. I refuse to set a foot in any mall, or store on this day. I prefer the mad rush on December 24th (kidding).

Yeah we kinda get like that after we win big football games. I had the riot police marching right at me one time when I had rushed the field. But for shopping? At least I'm getting into danger for something worthwhile. :icon_mrgr

This is what happens when you replace "Merry Christmas" with "happy holidays"...

point being...leave God out of it and God will stay out of it.

"Happy holidays, love Moses? That bastard! All humans must now suffer for this travesty!!" (sarcasm). I guess I can see where you're coming from. . .

Did that actually happen? Damn, that was funny, though!

Nope, it didn't actually happen. It was just a fun jab at black friday. Good ol' black friday. I remember when I used to go to my dad's over Thanksgiving my stepmom and her family would all go to the bay area (long drive from Sacramento) and shop all day long. Meanwhile, the sensible people aka. men of the house would kick back and go to the San Francisco International Auto Show. While the women and other crazy people were getting ran over by shopping carts we would be checking out the nice, spacious, UNCROWDED interior of every car to hit the market that year. Great fun!

I didn't think anybody really got hurt. Sorry I laughed, but people do such ridiculous and stupid things.

namvet, can you receive private messages now? I thought you said you couldn't. I think I know what you're talking about that notification thing. I just click where it says ok. I never once, received any notification if anyone received my message, so I don't pay any attention to it, just click ok, anyway. Is that what you were talking about?

Oh, okay, it didn't happen. Man, that wpuld be funny if it did.

I actually found out a bit of the XBox 360 sales. Microsoft is only supplying 10% of the demand to people, possibly to turn up the hype over it.

Maybe I am missing something or maybe I am just lazy. But do these people not realize that we are living in the 21st Century? Let's look at these two options:

Option A : Wake up on Friday at 0400 to make sure that you are 4 hours early to whatever store you are wanting to shop at. Once the doors open, you have to utilize whatever backyard fighting skills you have just to make it the first 100 feet inside the store. Once you have your item(s), you have to make it back to the register, which by now, is longer than the line that you were originally waiting in to get into the store. After several hours of waiting you finally make your purchase (Congratulations!!). Now you go to leave the store, only to the realization that, not only is every major street jammed with cars moving 2 MPH, but you also have 6 more stores to visit before the sales end at noon, and it is going to take at least an hour to get out of the parking lot.

Option B : Wake up on Thursday around 0700. Grab a bowl of frosted flakes and turn on CNN to see which liberal is going to claim the 'idiot of the day' award. After you get a good chuckle, flip the T.V. to Fox for the real news. Once you have a good idea of a thread to post, you log on to theamericanright.com to blow off some steam. While you are waiting to see who is going to first reply to your thread, you visit circuit.com, wal-mart.com, and i'mtoosmarttowaitinline.com and knock out all of your Christmas shopping. Since most stores can now reserve your item(s) before they even go on the shelves, and ship them to you the next day, why go through the trouble of the hustle and bustle?

"Yeah, but then I won't be able to catch all of the great savings. . .blah blah blah."

Shut up! Who cares about savings, when you are putting your health, life, and sanity at risk? Not to mention personal dignity. I don't know about you people but I would rather save myself the trip to the ER, rather than save 10% on the 'hot item of the year". . . .even if it is an effin' X-Box 360. And that is coming from a guy who makes less than $20,000 a year.

Someone please explain to me why these people go through all of the trouble?

Because people are idiots. To quote "K" from Men in Black 1...
"A person is smart. People are dumb, crazy, panicky animals and you know it."
I think this is why people packed into large cities always tend to vote Democrat.
