The one thing liberals always hold against us - no matter if it's related to the issue or doesn't fit at all - is that we're apparently "intolerant". They've gotten so open-minded that their brains have began to fall out.
But one thing that strikes me as very odd is the fact that, though claiming to look at every corner of the world, they have failed to realize that a loose immigration policy has failed elsewhere.
Take Europe as an example - Europe was originally an economically developing nation, culturally rich. It was filled with old ruins of churches, Christian places of worship and huge cathedrals. Germany, to be exact, had (since WWII) built up a society based on merit.
Sure, there was social welfare, but it wasn't widely abused - people got laid off, lived off welfare for a month, and then found a new job. Plain and simple. Everything worked well, and that's what caused the massive immigration by foreigners.
Now, when I say foreigners, we really must differentiate - from common experience I've found that Arabs are more likely to abuse the Republic of Germany. Keep in mind that stereotypes exist because they are reenforced by a majority of people.
Germany's Immigration "policy" is a joke. First of all, it has open borders - the EU agreement failed to realize that the eastern countries, the "true" borders of Europe, have porous borders and corrupt law enforcement.
Second, Germany sets absolutely no restrictions on immigration - not even Background Checks are necessary. And no, not until a year ago, you didn't even have to be able to speak Germany before getting citizenship.
Now, in Stuttgart (the city I'm from), you might have 20% "true" foreigners, and 20% (estimated) "foreign-born" germans. The latter is an estimate, as such statistics are illegal thanks to our communist government.
This chart (http://www.destatis.de/presse/deutsch/pm1999/p0030081.htm) shows how foreigners have depleted the national treasury by draining the social welfare pot. "Auslaender" is german for "Foreigners".
As you can see, although foreigners currently make up only a very small percentage of Germans (since most of them already recieved citizenship), they still drain about 30% of the German Welfare.
This caused a ripple effect - more and more Germans have seen how foreigners (legally) abuse the welfare system, and as such have decided that it's "cool to have someone else work for you for free". Once again looking at the chart, social welfare exploded.
What's the consequence? The Republic of Germany is facing the hugest debt in history, larger than the debt that sparked the rise of Adolf Hitler. It's no easy task to create the largest budget hole in history when the sales tax is 18% and income tax close to 30%.
The scary thing is that many foreigners, having recieved citizenship, have their own Nationalist parties (such as the Turkish Nationalist party, which is as large as the Republican party of Germany), or simply decided to support the former Soviet Party (PDS). The PDS got 9% in the last election.
These mistakes could easily be corrected by a conservative government - simply legalizing the Republican Party would be a step in the right direction (literally).
The real problem arises when you look at criminality charts: Ever since the massive influx of immigrants, crime has been on the rise steadily.
As seen here (http://www.onlinereports.ch/2005/SchildAuslandKrimiInterview.htm), although foreigners are a small minority, they are three times more likely to commit a crime than a German is. And that's not even counting the millions of "foreign-born" Germans.
Oh, and let's not forget that the Socialist government (which has governed our country for the past 7 years) supported the construction of Mosques, payed by tax-dollars, as part of a "cultural immersion" program.
In closing, I would like to say that America is on the right path when it chooses tough immigration policies and background checks on all immigrants - learn from our mistakes and don't let your country be shot in the back by greedy social parasites.
