What consitutes a govenor to appiont a Senator?? Reason I ask VA govenor race is close and we have two republican senators. One that could very much retire and another that could very much leave the office for a presidential bid. So if Kaine(D) wins nov. 8 wouldn't it be him to appoint someone to that seat until an election can be held??

I am about 100% sure that VA would hold special elections. And no, the govenor can't appoint a senator. What would be done in the mean time is a good question though.
But don't worry, that idiot Kaine won't win. Kilgore will smoke him like a marlboro.
