I started this thread soley based on a commet Yankee Doodle made in the Confederate flag thread
In the thread he bashed "REDNECK" values.
Lets take a look at the origin of this term:
Why would someone have redneck? B/c they were an outdoor worker who spent most of th eday in the sun with their neck exposed. They are probably doing hard labor to make your life easier. Rather than suckin in welfare and gov't handouts they work the fields, etc. doin jobs that are necessary to keep america goin. Usually b/c of their situation these people are not prone to climbing the social ladder and many times families inheirit their parents jobs.
So lets see here:
Hard-working, dedicated, self-sufficient, good fmaily members (from my experience), and good morals. Most of them love their home, their country, and would die in a heartbeat to protect their lands if need be.
What you all are thinking of is white trash. Just like black trash, mexican trash, etc., there is a group than can be labeled white trash. These are the racists, the ones abusing welfare, the ones who don't give a damn about anything, etc.
I myself am proud to be a redneck. I worked my tail off outside growin up, I love my country, love my family, love the outdoors (and probably do more to save the environment than any tree-huggin hippie), KNOW the difference between right and wrong, love music than has a meaning and not just a beat (ie. SOLID country music), love the south, and most importantly LOVE JESUS!!! I'm also gonna be a Mechanial Engineer graduating at the top of my class in 2 years. As a junior in college I already have 2 companies willing to hire me. One has already promised me a fairly high position hired on as an experienced engineer with a lovely salary.
Seems to me like my CRAPPY redneck values sure have done a lot for me...
Mark my words, If hildabeast and the dems take over and attempt to hinder gun ownership, the stars and bars will start flying again...
