The A.C.L.U. makes me sick. They say they want to "protect the constitution." How does doing away with boy scouts or supporting child melesters acomplish this?

The following is a true story.

A convicted child melester moved to a town. Naturally, the mayor wants to have him banned from the city park. This "man" admits he wants to go to the park to fanasize about having intercourse with the children. guess who the A.C.L.U. supported? '

The A.C.L.U wants to do away with boy scouts because they think boy scouts/ girl scouts should be one, and they say it descriminates against homosexuals. Call me crazy, but I don't think the majority of males want to sell cookies.

Boy couts doesn't discriminate gays, but there was a case that a kid, who was the president of the local gay/lesbian society was kicked out of his troop, and forcing him to lose his eagle, which is ONLY taken away if you commit an act greater than a felony. It really depends on the council you got. But joining Girl/Boy scouts? well, if it'll make the trips go by faster. . .

I dont know how they can say this, as they are one of the most admant anti-gun organizations on the planet.

The American Civil Liberties Union, doesn't give two shits about the Constitution. They just want whats best for themselves and there union. Unions are a complete waste of time to begin with, but thats a different topic. The issue at hand is how does the ACLU support the US Constitution, and the answer is plain and simple THEY DON"T.

If I'm not mistaken the boy scouts (who use public venues, funded with public money, to host their meetings) exclude atheists and homosexuals. What the ACLU is doing is making sure that if they continue with those policies they can't use public "funds". Regarding child molesters, it would be something that would be governed by local statutes would'nt it? If the city passes a law banning sex offenders from being in a specific area (I'm thinking of predator laws and schools) then that would be the proper recourse wouldn't it? Not sure about the second part but I'm positive about the first.

If I'm not mistaken the boy scouts (who use public venues, funded with public money, to host their meetings)In all my years of working with the Boy Scouts, I have yet to find a meeting held in a public venue funded by the public. Most generally, meeting and the like are held at Churches with the exception of Jamboree's and scout camps. The later usually at a "camp" owned and maintained by the BSA. In California, a large piece of land was deeded to BSA which in turn was deeded to the State/County for a park with the understanding in writing that BSA had free access to it. That was until the ACLU came along.

The ACLU is trying to claim that not allowing gays and child molesters to work with these boys is an infringement of their rights. Also that not allowing them is discriminatory. I've never allowed just anyone around my kids, including other kids, does that mean I've been unduly discriminating?
