The new tape that came out said "Tomorrow Los Angeles and Melbourne," does anyone have any ideas on why al-qaida would attack Australia?
Thanks!

John Howard committed Australian support to the Iraq war effort. The Islamists know they cannot defeat any Western nation militarily, so the obvious alternative is to terrorize the innocent civilian population of those Western nations.

Having been to Melbourne I'd have to question what and why they would target in Melbourne. It's small. Large by Aussie standards, but small by any International standard you'd like to apply.
Want to really mess with Australia, hit the opera house in Sydney (they have AA batteries stationed around it tho, you can see them as you fly over)
*shrug* no one ever accused the terrorist planners of being particularly bright I guess.

I smell an empty threat, like every other threat they ever made.

For the life of me, I cannot find any source proving such a tape ever existed. Besides, no one knows for sure how old these tapes are, it could've been made two years ago, hell, Bin Laden could even be dead without us knowing...

What network broadcasts these tapes? They should be under interrogation.
