Very nice.

Yes, it is real. It is from the movie The Ghost Breakers from 1940.
"A zombie has no will of his own. You see them walking around blindly with dead eyes, following orders, not knowing what they do, not caring." Hope quips, "You mean like Democrats?"

OH MAN THAT REALLY IS THE GREATEST MOVIE LINE EVER!!! FUUUUNY!!! I'm saving the file. Even funnier is the thought that if that line were in a movie today there would be a bunch of protests about how the line is "unconstitutional" and "offensive"!!!

That is tooooooooo funny!!!!!!!!
This quip gives a great deal of insight into the mindset of 1940 America. The Democrats of the time obviously could take a joke, as most of the members of the SAG were Democrats. Easy to see how this spirit of loyal opposition helped the country pull together to fight WW2. Any actor who made a remark like this in a movie today would be blackballed for life, as would the director, the producer, the studio, ad infinitum...

What is even funnier is the democrats turning on their own. They are all distancing themselves from Ohblahma. They know what is coming Tuesday.

Hey, I didn't even think about that. I love the old threads here though. Little time capsules, one and all.
I can't wait till wednesday morning!
I can't wait till wednesday morning!
What time do the Eastern polls close here in Calif. on Tuesday? Shouldn't we start getting results about 6:00 P.M.? I can't wait either.

I tend to think that we may not know all we want in some of these races that are said to be so close. I guess that we are at a litle bit of an advantage here on the west coast though because we should all be up late enough to see what happened in other parts of the country.
Something tells me that wednesday is going to be the more interesting day.
