Maybe the US should stop supporting it, and no longer be a member. But that wouldn't be good. How much rent are we charging them?

The US should withdraw from the UN, kick them out of NY, and collect on all those outstanding parking tickets!

I feel that the UN has been a burden to the US. Honestly, what REAL power does the UN have? They have no military. Their troops are a bunch of non-hackers from other coutries that run around with pansy blue helmets! Could that be any more of a target??!! If the UN really wants to help people, they should move their HQ to Haiti. I'm sure the people there would appreciate it.

Some say it wouldn't be good if the US withdrew from the UN. I say it was never good for the US to join the UN! The UN was created as an anti-US organization. During the Cold War, Soviet Russia had 3 votes on the UN security council. The US, France, and Germany each had 1 vote each. Unless my math is wrong, that doesn't quite seem fair.

I think the UN is an inept organization that is against the United States of America, the Constitution, and everything that us americans believe in.

What a total waste of our taxpayers dollars. They couldn't prevent the bloodshed in Rwanda. Now the Sudan is in pretty bad shape. Give the New Yorkers a break and take the UN to some country(like Norway)who believes that their taxpayers want to pay more taxes so they can HELP the third world countries. My solution to those unpaid parking tickets is as follows: All unpaid parking tickets will be deducted from the aid we give their country.

The UN feels so nice and warm and fuzzy. Is there any accomplisments that the UN has done in the past 20 years that are noteworthy? They even screw up Elections and even humanitarian aid!

We don't need the UN. Perhaps the french would like to host this 'dis-organization' in their country.

I like what President Bush is doing with teaming up former presidents Bush and Clinton in a fundraising effort for south asia tsunami relief. Surely this is a bit of a stick in the eye to Kofi Annan who would love to line his pockets a bit further with money intended for others. President Bush will prove that the United States can run these international relief efforts without the UN. 'Kofi's choice' would be only to relieve us of our money for his own gain. I don't think Bush will allow it again under his watch.

The Liberals were complaining about it that day... well everything except the Bill Clinton part.

I was watching the press conference with Bush² and Clinton. When Bush Jr. gave the number dead Bush Sr. Shook his head. Clinton was emotionless throughout the Press Conference. Clinton was probably thinking "I betcha all the chicks are topless."

Today I heard that President Bush caved to the UN regarding tsunami relief aid. Now Kofi and Kompany can spend millions of our tax dollars for tsunami relief.

Now that he has successfully hijacked the relief operation, Kofi the Korrupt wants the cash right away. He is demanding that the nations who pledged money immediately hand over the $977 million to the UN. The same UN that turned a $64 billion oil-for-food program into a cesspool of corruption, the same Kofi Annan who turned his head while his UN buddies, including his son, siphoned off untold millions of dollars intended to feed and medicate Iraqi women and children is now getting his hands on all of the American taxpayer money that has been pledged to the relief efforts. The US aid that would have been distributed to the victims of the tsunamis under the name of the United States will now be distributed under the name of the United Nations. These people will look to the UN to thank for their salvation, not the people of the United States.

You have to wonder just much of that money will actually go to help the victims. Once the United States' $350 million is funneled through the corrupt bureaucracy of the U.N., how much will be left to help the starving children of Sri Lanka? Certainly some aid will get through .... aid emblazoned with the UN logo ... and almost as certainly some of the money will end up in the pockets of corrupt UN toadies.

This is why it is not a good idea for governments to engage in charity. Over $350 million that was seized from the American people through confiscatory taxes will now be spent by an agency that is dedicated to the destruction of American sovereignty. Nice going.

If you're going to give to the tsunami relief, I would send your money to private charities. AmeriCares and American Red Cross are two great charities.

I will not be giving any additional aid to the victims of the tsunami. While it is unfortunate that so many lost their lives, it would be even more unfortunate to give money to Islamic countries that will go back to their "death to America" rhetoric as soon as their villages are rebuilt.

I found this in the Washington Times....

Report: U.N. Troops Exploited Congo Girls

By LEYLA LINTON
Associated Press Writer
UNITED NATIONS (AP) -- United Nations peacekeepers in Congo sexually exploited women and girls, some as young as 13, a U.N. watchdog office said Friday in a new confirmation that efforts to curb abuses by U.N. troops are not working.

Peacekeepers regularly had sex with Congolese women and girls, usually in exchange for food or small sums of money, investigators from the world body's Office of Internal Oversight Services found.

"We have had and continue to have a serious problem of sexual exploitation and abuse," William Lacy Swing, the United Nations' special representative to Congo, said at a news conference.

"We are shocked by it, we are outraged, we are sickened by it. Peacekeepers who have been sworn to assist those in need, particularly those who have been victims of sexual violence, instead have caused grievous harm."

The majority of the UNs funds come from the US. If we withdraw Id like to see the looks on their faces.

The UN could have been something great, but it is clearly corrupt, and we cannot trust it now.

We should have gotten out of the UN yesterday. The UN is totally ineffective and corrupt. Besides which the UN now wants to start taxing you and I. I say screw them.

Agreed Wadi, and the real bad part is that they want to do more then just tax us, they want to interfere with our govt. They want to take away our guns, and they want make all things international, and they want the one world government. Its scary. (Im sure you knew that wadi)

Holy crap I didn't realize they were that crazy. The UN wants to tax us and tell us what to do. I doubt the US govt would ever allow them to tell us what to do. That is a scary thought though, the UN possibly occupying the US. In the rare occasion that they do, I'll bring out my very legal arsenal, and along with a lot of my friends, give those blue wearing pricks a fight they will regret. Honestly who wears a blue uniform. That's like yelling, "hey I'm over here, snipe me."

Yup they are that nuts. As far as legal arsenal goes, If I were in charge, youd have anti aircraft guns, bazookas, very large and numerous militias, but ya, if I ran things, man would things be differant.

Sorry to have to tell you Guns but the US govt is already allowing the UN to dictate our actions. Ever hear of the WTO? World Trade Organization. Its an offshoot of the UN. Bush had to roll back the steel tariffs because it violated the WTO agreement. Every 5 yrs the option to stay in the WTO comes before Congress. They'll be voting on it this year. My Congressman has admitted that belonging to the WTO has striped away some of our sovereignty.

Now we have Bush making the ratification of an accord known as LOST, Law of the Sea Treaty a top priority. By joining one of the UN's offshoots, the International Seabed Authority, it will give the UN jurisdiction over all the oceans and eventually all the waterways in the U.S that flow into the oceans. Reagan rejected that 22 years ago.

If we know the UN is corrupt and anti-American, why are we joining forces with them in this?

If that's true, hopefully people like these will keep us safe from UN occupation.

What happens if there is a UN mandate requiring you to give up your guns and since you won't give them up, they send UN troops (of non american origin). Think there is enough of these guys to win the fight? Course the UN may be more subtile, they may just require you to show your ID which is issued by the US govt and sanctioned by the UN. Do you or will you have one of those? No, well, I hope you are a good gardener or live close to your work. Oh wait, you won't have a job. Your current employer is not allowed to hire someone who doesn't have the proper ID. Ho hum, what is a body to do?

The UN can only do so much before our Militias and citizens rebel. If you look online for different militias, there are probably millions of members. 12 million in the NAM alone. Millions belong to the NRA. I'm sure the KKK will put aside their racist views and assist. There's a few million more. I think the UN will have trouble coming up with enough soldiers to fight a guerilla war American stlye.

Wadi66
03-11-2005, 12:57 AM
I hope you're right, they may be needed. There are probably a few more million not yet belonging to an organization that will answer the call to arms.
