I know i may be paranoid, but whenever I listen to the conservative radio stations here in chicago, there is some kind of clicking noise, and sometimes the static is so strong that the entire show is incomprehensible. These are not low power radio stations, and they are the only ones that are like this, and they are like this on all the radios i listen to them on. It may be because I am near the airport, but why not all the stations then, the conspiracy theorist in me tells me that someone is interfearing, can anyone explain this to me?

Hrm.... you could contact the FAA, they may have the information you need in their database. They track known interferance.

That you live near the airport is the most telling. Do you know the specific frequencies the stations? RF noise can be either broadband or narrow. If it's narrow band then you'd get noice only on it's frequency and any close harmonics, and those may not affect other stations on the dial.

The likelyhood that it's some conspiracy to jam your favorite stations is highly unlikely. The power that would be required to squash a major broadcaster would require some serious investment of time and money. Personally, if I had that kind of time and money I'd set up my own LPFM station and just say what I want to say, insteadof trying to silence the others (hrm.. censorship....don't see that being a liberal value)

Also, is it just one radio that has problems? is it just in/around your house? does it affect you when you're in the car accross town? What about other people you know...do they experience this noise?

If it's not enough to really interfere with listening then just deal with it, analog radio in the US is working on a system designed over 100 years ago. When we make the move to Digital radio most of these issues will go away.
