The Bush administration has begun downplaying the "war on terror" in favor of "a global struggle against violent extremism...

Seems that Bush decided that 'War on Terror' was too hutful. Probably following BBC's lead by discontinuing calling terrorists 'terrorists'.

And who says that Bush is a staunch conservative?

Bush a conservative? Hardly.

Bigger government, poor fiscal management, bungling of intellignece... these are not hallmarks of conservatism.

Are they?

Also, did you happen to catch Bush flipping the bird to the media yet again 2 nights ago?

And foul-mouth-cheney... there's a gleaming example of moral superiority.

Bush Sr. was a real conservative. Despite the contra scandle, Reagan was a real conservative. Bush is part of a so-called "neo-con" movement that seems to get most of their ideas from an extreamist view of the world, hard-right christians, and Fascist regiemes from history.

Of course, there's always going to be people who beilive him and trust everything he says just because he's the president... I don't even debate those people any more.

I got a new .sig line, I think this is the perfecct post to test it out on...

The Bush presidency was good at first, at least compared to the alternative, but lately they seem to be leaning farther and farther left, and it pisses me off.

Is it actually left they're leaning to tho? I don't really think so...

I think we need to get out of this 2 party mentality and come to terms with a multi-party system. I for one would love to see some alternative voices in the presidential debates. Instant Run Off voting and other electoral reforms need to be implemented, and people (not localities, i.e. big cities) need more of a voice.

But... it's just a dream for the monent.

We've got plenty of alternatives to Repubs and Demwits, unfortunately none of them have any real voice. I agree that only two choices to lead a country of 300 million seems hardly adequate.
