The children, ages 14 to 16, expressed concern about being labeled as "terrorists" by the West.

"I have been a victim of stereotypes. I come from Latin America and to some countries, we are considered 'losers,' drug traffickers, and that is not fair because that is generalizing," said Martin, who was born in Puerto Rico.

"Those comments are made out of ignorance and we have to sometimes ignore the ignorant, but we also have to educate the ignorant. You have me here as a friend," he said.

hollywood trying to push thier beleifs down our throats??
maybe.
what makes ricky martin feel so riteous to do this. He probably has the same stereotypes in his mind as we do.

and why doesnt he fix the deeper problem. WHy the muslims see americans as greedy money seeking pigs bent on world destruction.

i do realize that not all arabs are terrorists. but there is a lot of reason to see it that way.

maybe martin should take that terrorist test.

the one like this

Ricky Martin sounds so naive. Sounds like he is one of those who thinks he can make friends with them, and then everything will be hunky-dory.

I wonder if he knew what was written on that cloth that read 'Israel is Ours', and posing with it wrapped around him? I think maybe he didn't. Just a guess.

I wouldnt consider Ricky Martin a celebrity anymore although I think he still thinks he is one. All the blarring trumpets and hip shaking in the world couldnt keep his name alive. And what do celebrities do when their names die? Enter Politics!

He says he's fighting sterotypes. But I happen to think its the blame America and defend the terrorists mentality spilling over into the "celebrity" population. This is not about stereotyping- this is about radical muslims hell bent determined to bring down the US and other countries seeking to stop terrorism in its tracks. Since when are we concerned about terrorist's feelings and if their being stereotyped...good grief!!

I don't think it's the terrorists' feelings that anybody is worried about; it's all the Muslims who aren't terrorists who get lumped in the same category.

And I'm sure most Muslims would never don a suicide belt. But the facts is that suicide bombers are named Achmed and Abdul, not Bob and Jim. This is the disctinction that most people make. All the PC sensitivity training in the world won't mask that basic, undeniable fact.

I'm all for pulling our forces out of the middle east and leaving the Muslims alone...if the Muslims will leave our land too.
