i dont know how many people saw this earlier this week. John mccain was on jay leno. the exemplied the reason he should never be president. He said if he was elected then he would choose hilary clinton as his (Security advisor or defense, i cant remember which) because she would do a good job and would be the first woman to do that job.

I think he said secretary of defense and I think he was joking (which is what most people do on Leno's show).

maybe, but mccain is about as republican and zel miller is democrat
Hokie, I agree with you about McCain to a point but be careful when comparing McCain to Miller. Miller is a good man and a true Democrat. Miller is not a liberal. He is a Democrat that is the perfect example of the difference. Miller is an 'old school' Democrat. They are nothing like the liberals of today which is why Miller wrote his book entitle, A National Party No More. (http://www.issues2000.org/National_No_More.htm)
McCain is not a Republican. As I've said before, anyone that would side with Russ Feingold and create the Campaign Finance Reform debacle, is not a Republican.

Hey, McCain is TONS better than Rudy Giuliani, for one McCain, despite his moderation, is very pro-life. His view on gay marriage and such is lack luster, but he is pro-gun, Giuliani is bad on all three of those issues.

I don't care for any RINOs, Giuliani or McCain, but, at least Giuliani never sold out the Republicans like McCain did...

Just wondering how do you feel that McCain sold out the republicans?
I ran specail interest rating on vote-smart.org more specifically http://vote-smart.org/issue_rating_category.php?can_id=S0061103 It seems that McCain votes pretty conservativaly more than given credit. Votes that caught my eye where: prolife, for the tax reformist, small buisness, agianst the ACLU, for conservative groups like the eagle forum (100% of the time), against the Brady campiagn, against the AFL-CLO, etc.. Just my opinion --AAK

I love that some of you are already hunkering down around the possibilities for the next Republican president.
Talking about it now is the responsible thing to do!

Why can't politics be more like trading baseball cards?
