This what Finance Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has to say on the matter;
http://www.worldthreats.com/middle_east/why_is_bib_still.htm

..............This withdrawal is taking place under terrorist pressure. Whether or not terrorism has led to the decision to withdraw, the fact is that the Palestinians believe that terrorism is what made us decide to withdraw. The leaders of Hamas and Islamic Jihad say clearly that from their perspective this is a rout, not a choice. Because of this they are becoming stronger politically and militarily, and are encouraged to continue using these methods.

So, the question is simple: Will Israel's security situation be improved or harmed by the withdrawal - and perhaps also by the manner in which it is carried out - that is taking place without any gain and while strengthening terrorist forces? In my view, the situation will get worse. This is why I will oppose withdrawal when the government votes on its implementation on Sunday.

there is more, check out the link.

I thought that it was a point in the whole cease fire.

Personally I think Israel is demonstrating to the world yet again, that Palestine's promises are void of any meaning.

But I'm curious what angle furmalicious is going to hit this topic with. I'd wager that there's something more to this than a general question.

He prolly thinks he's got some bulletproof arguement he picked up on some liberal hack site that he wants to sucker punch us with

He prolly thinks he's got some bulletproof arguement he picked up on some liberal hack site that he wants to sucker punch us with Man... stop projecting and just wait for my response, ok? NO I don't think I have a some argument that makes me right and you wrong and here is my shithead liberal website... you're annoying to me too but how about we debate instead of project stupid shit onto one another?

I assumed that right off the bat I would disagree with the majority around here about the Israeli/ Palestinian conflict in it's entirety so I didn't bother to say what was on my mind- it's more interesting to hear "the other side's" point of view in the first place... I know most of you can't accept this but I'm here actually trying to understand your point of view not prove you're idiots, ok? I don't want to be one more ignorant person who bitches about the other side without EVER having gotten to know wtf "they" are talking about. I think BOTH sides have valid points and debating is how you find each side's truth.

I think it's good that they are getting out. I think the link provided above to the guy going off about "the BIGGEST lie in the world" blah blah blah is ridiculous. I don't care "who owned it'... I care WHO LIVED THERE. It's not like it was empty "virgin" land when the Jews came... people already lived there and that is where I just disagree with anyone who starts going off about symantics about the fact that legally they aren't really called "Palestinians" because it was an "AREA" not a COUNTRY....

And if you're going to bring up UNSC Resolutions (in the link.. the Palestinians "didn't accept the resolution"), would you all care to talk about the 32 separate UNSC resolutions, dating from 1968 to 2002, that Israel is in violation of? How about Resolution 194 which calls for the right of Palestinian refugees to return back to their lands and be compensated? Or how about the more than 20 UNSC resolutions have demanded that Israel rescind its annexation of East Jerusalem and surrounding lands seized in 1967, return expropriated Arab properties, protect the safety of Palestinian civilians under the occupation, and respect the Fourth Geneva Convention (to which Israel is a party) which forbids the settlement of an occupying nation’s population on lands occupied during war? Or how about UNSC 452 (1979) that explicitly calls on Israel to cease the construction of settlements in lands occupied in 1967, including Jerusalem? Etc etc etc...

And of course I already feel I must put up my disclaimer:

I'm not anti-Israel and I'm not anti-Semitic.. I'm pro-international law and pro-human rights. Please take note of this as I'm not going to argue these points with anyone.

In summary I just don't get it- from that guy's argument (again, the link) you can easily say that Americans aren't allowed to be here considering "we never really owned it anyways" and slaughtered the "savages" who we now have special priviledges for because we destroyed their entire culture. Why is it Israeli's have the right to remove people from their homes and how come Americans had the right to remove Native American's from their homes?

Get out of Gaza and get out of The West Bank.... I know it hurts everyone's feelings but the Palestinians don't like being occupied.... kinda like how the Iraqis don't like being occupied either, huh?

And of course- let me put up another disclaimer:

I'm not pro-Palestinian suicide bombers/ terrorists. Again, I'm pro-human rights.... it's a political problem and ALL parties commiting violence are NOT addressing the problem in an appropriate way- they are killing innocents and it is wrong. Again, it is NOT a military problem.... the IDF may do some good but it is without question that they commit a lot of the violence that harms innocent civilians too.
