View Full Version : "Unexpected" - If you are a liberal
It all depends on how you perceive it. It's a tax cut. Period. Who benefits more? You say the rich. Maybe. But then at least be willing to look at the other side that the liberals will always ignore.
You say the rich benefit more because the tax cut put more money in their pocket. What liberals won't admit is how much the tax increases hurt the rich. It goes both way. And believe me, there are infinitely more tax increases than tax cuts. In your logic, the CEO can buy a new car with his tax cut and the mother can maybe buy some name brand toilet paper. But when the liberals want to raise taxes but "only .5%" or some other such number, it only hurts the single mom a little, right. But, it could cost the small business millions. Those millions will work their way down to the little guy eventually.
So, I'll admit this one tax cut will help the rich if you'll admit that for this one tax cut there have been hundreds if not thousands of tax increases and not one time have the liberals pointed out how much it would hurt the rich.

Am I the only one who read the part about a large part of the new revenue coming in from an expired tax cut?
I'd love to see some real conservatives here, instead of President George jr.'s parents, cheering everytime he makes a good pooh pooh and fighting anyone who dares to question him (should I capitalize "Him", you guys seem to want that?).

I do beleive this is the standard 'hissy fit' IHL was reffering to. (http://www.theamericanright.com/vbforum/showpost.php?p=21619&postcount=33) Not speaking for anyone else, just my own observations. --AAK

think what you want, buddy, but some of the people on this board aren't conservative, they're simply George Bush jr. supporters. There's a major difference between a good conservative and what's going on in the White House right now. Call it a hissy fit if you want, I'll call it a grown man with his eyes open (and I'll be the one that's right).

Just ran across where where the Dow continues to rise (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/11/24/AR2005112400745.html) and couldn't help but remember this thread here. I wonder what had ever happened to the doom and gloom that Kery predicted during his 2004 campaign?? Where are all the doubters now??

All the doubters are jumping on the next convient band wagon to go traveling through liberal America.

The Dow's pushing 11,000, that's tech boom numbers. The dollar is gaining strength. I hope it continues. If President Bush Jr.'s tax cuts work for the good of Americans then I will praise his work. If the rich continue to get richer as the poor get poorer I will continue to vote against anyone connected to the current administration.

The best educated and the hardest workers will always be the richest. It boils down to how bad do you want "it".

I'm not talking about party, I'm talking about administrations. Working hard is a big part of success. Is it the only part? Not on your life.

Well when will you start praising?? The tax cuts are working they have worked before (http://www.house.gov/jec/growth/taxpol/taxpol.htm) and are working again

Why blame this administration? This has also been an issue during the 90's (http://archives.cnn.com/2000/US/01/18/wage.gap/) but no one blamed the administration. This is a complicated issue though. I am for a fair share but is the income gap a fair tool (http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/stories/2000/02/14/editorial3.html) to use? The poor pay no tax and utilize alot more of public resources. It also occurs to me that the poverty guidelines (http://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty/figures-fed-reg.shtml) get riased every year. So that means that it is not necessarily the case that people are getting poorer, its just that the index is being raised to put them in that classification.
It is a fairly complicated subject more so than just that the rich are getting richer.

I'm not talking about party, I'm talking about administrations. Working hard is a big part of success. Is it the only part? Not on your life. The different political mentalities are reflected in the different Administrations. We're not a socialist Nation Count, stop pushing us in that direction. You wonder if the tax cuts are good for Americans? Did you even take Economics 101? Do you know what Say's Law is? Have you EVER been in business for yourself? There are some VERY BASIC principles that Democrats and some businesses just flat out ignore even though they are found to be accurate over and over.
