In a country as diverse as ours and new streams of imigrants that have come in there has always been some tension between the people who have been here a while and the people who are new. Unfortunatly we are now facing an output (no pun intened) of homosexuals. They are pushing for what they call tolerance in the world, but waht they really want is to be in charge. In schools they have their way because name calling is now a way to be suspened or expelled without thinking of the freedom of speach of the child, but whereas a child will be taught that what the homosexuals do is alright and should be accepted as normal. That in my opinon is bs. There is a fine line between tolerance and acceptance. Tolerance is accepting a persons life and allowing them to live. That is all we have to give to them. There is no reason why we should have to accept them, feel what they do is right, expose our children to it, set it as the norm, or put out in public. It is outrageous to force children in schools to have to deal with it anyway at all, and if parents step up and say they dont want their children to be apart of those classes they are seen as intolerant or bigoted. What happened to my rights? How come my beleifs cant be accepted? To me that is a sin and i dont myself or my children to be exposed to it. So why is it fair that we must shed aside our beleifs for someone else.

you have the right to be gay in America but gays do not have the right to push their sick lifestyle on America and force up to accept the ridiculaous notion of gay "marriage". gay marriage is joke. It is nothing more than an effort by the gays to seek acceptance and normalcy. They push their agenda under the innocent sounding guise of "diversity & tolerance" but if you want to see hypocrisy in action check out a liberals response to somebody questioning this forced diversity & tolerance. If it were real tolerance there would be acceptance of opting out of this forced diversity BS. Hey there are lots of folks who are disgusted by homosexuality what about them- where is the tolerance? The gay agenda is now pushing this forced homosexual "tolerance" on kids just like they use the courts to push their agenda on America . They use the education system just like they use the courts. They cannot win at the ballot box so they use the liberal school administarators and the ever liberal NEA to push their sickness on our kids.
In massachussets that liberal bastion of "tolerance" and forced diversity a father of child who homosexuality was being pushed on was actually arrested for daring to speak out and question the school on this teaching of homosexuality. Some tolerance eh? once again liberal morons are the masters of hypocrisy and using flowerey touchy feely words to push their liberal socialist and now deviant sexual behavoir on America.

Tolerance should not be misconstrued as a dilution of morals. Some homosexuals really need to get over it and just start acting like normal people in everyday life, they wouldn't have to rant for tolerance or forcefully strive to offend or polarize or name call. To me, most of them are as normal people. I leave my sexuality MY business. I've had a few "gay" friends that functioned VERY well; at work, in their neighborhood, even stepping into their home, they and their "partner" were classy, decent and respectful of themselves as well as their guest. I think the militant wacko ones you're talking about are quite a different make and model of character. Just another freak, who also happens to be fixated on the stigma crutch of their homosexuality. These people have serious issues to deal with before they go into adapting to their identity. I allow them that identity. This; is tolerance. I think they'd realize whatever reasonable cause they may have by shutting up and being a little more tolerant of societal norms.

I live in Oregon, where in November, we passed measure 36, banning gay marriage. Now they are trying to pass a bill given queers the right to a "civil union", and that includes marriage rights, so basically, It's going around the amendment using a different term. Fortunatly, although the 15/15 spilt senate passed the bill 19-11, The bill is for sure to be struck down in the house, which is owned by republicans 35/25, that is if the leadership of the republican party prove to be like the people, and not moderate, like the US congressman. The leadership of the party is sadly far more left than the people. But I'm sure the bill will die. DIE!!!!!!!!! WA HA HA HA!!!!!

I don't remember where I got this, but I heard a good saying for Christians to go by. "Tolerance is a virtue of a man who lacks conviction". The truth is God condemnes sexual immorality in the Bible, and if you just accept it and hold their lifestyle to be just as valid and acceptabe as your own, then you are being immoral also.

Gays have the right to marry. claiming to be tolerant of them, then not letting them marry based on religous beliefs, is about as hypocritical as you can get. Do they like being called queers? Do they like being harrased? If they do, they need psyciatry. It's chemicaly on them. Where is seperation of church and state here? Gays have no right to be married. Its ok for gays as people to be alive, but in no way is it alright that we have to accept these people as normals. Its against almost every religon to be gay and i refuse to sin to appease these people.

Even though I'm on the conservative side of many topics on this forum, I have to say I really could not care about two guys getting married. The only problem that I have is how the law will surely be involved. How long before they will get a special tax break for being gay and married? benefits? As long as its equal across the board and money doesn't float out of my pocket and into theirs because they have been suppressed, oppressed, stressed or cross dressed, I really couldn't give a rats ass. In fact, I dont think the government should have anything to do with any of our marriages other than if you take on the last name of your...I hate this word.."partner", then your Social Security Number should track you.

Kids in my High School used to do this. I knew one that switched back and forth no less than 3 times in one year.
