They would die of boredom listening to me. But I hardly ever turn my phone on, as I HATE the telephone.

normally im excited about new tech, but this is one area that is simply too scary, i can see how it could have some positive uses in law enforcement, but this is too untested and new, it needs to be put on the backburner for a while.

I always have mixed feelings about stuff like this. I would think this is a case for the ACLU. Doesn't this come under search and seizure? Don't they need to get a Judge to sign off on it first?

The lesson here isn't even so much about an over-reaching goverment as it is the idea that citizens may just be handing over their phones upon request without even questioning this. Are people stupid enough to not even know that they do not have to hand over their phones like that? Unfortunatly, the answer is probably YES.

I am not anti-police. But if a officer asked me for something like that, I'd definitly challenge him/her on it. What we are seeing is an increase where SOME of those in positions of authority are pushing things to the limit to see just how far they can go. I refer yu back to the latest video of the TSA worker putting her hands inside a little girls pants and using the palm of her hand on the front of the childs chest.

What's next? Do we need to hand over our phones to have all of the data downloaded before we can board a plane? Is that an overly paranoid thought? I say that it isn't. Not based on the way things are trending.

Learn to refuse some things.
