I have to ask: what does it take, exactly, to get permanently banned from this site? Some have been banned so many times in the last few months that I'm surprised they havent been told, "Thats it for you, then!"

Not complaining, or being critical....just curious as to where the breaking point lay.

Personally, I'm not always quick to ban and I know that pisses some people off. I rarely ban people for differing views. I will ban for spam instantly. But the way I see it, there are a lot of people in my life I would like to ban if I had a button to do so but instead, I have to deal with them. Dealing with them might mean not dealing with them at all. It may mean trying to change their views. It just depends.

I'll tell you what I find most interesting, and that is how people deal with the people they think should be banned. That tells volumes. I am almost always more annoyed and disturbed with the way others deal with the trolls then the trolls themselves. I know what to expect with trolls. It's the people that should know how to handle themselves and don't that disappoint me the most.

So what does it take? It just depends on the individual situation usually.

Bannation should mostly depend, I think, on gross self-promotion. That might be an absolute. Everything else might be subjective, I think. Accept for obscenity and personal attacks.

Regular banning I understand, and can deal with. People who normally irritate me I can not pay attention to, or ignore, as the situation merits. What gets me is the people that GET banned.....over, and over, and over...then just come back. I know this site isnt MOST sites...but previously I've experienced that people who get banned that often typically get told to take their show walking. Thus the question :)

I do believe this time we're really breaking up (a Bobby Vinton song?, I have a habit of being reminded of songs easily) with Y & C. No sign of either so maybe it is permanent, let us pray; the good lady TL does her best and that is all that can be expected.

Thankyou, Northpaw. It means a lot to me that you recognize that. Very few people understand what I put into this little site behind the scenes. For any of you who come to me with concerns that I try and help with, you can bet on it that there are other valuable members that I am also trying to please. I'm not complaining about it - not at all. I'm just stating a fact. Being here on TAR is a choice - not an obligation. And I choose to be here. I choose to devote my time and my heart, because I love this little place. I love the good people who come here.

There is a lot of joy that I take in getting to know the fine people here, and there is a lot of abuse that I endure. Is it worth it? I guess so - since I'm still here after all of these years. But I'm all about the honest members - always have been. I will not budge from this. Honesty trumps deceit any day of the week on my calendar.

Still here enjoying the good people. Still trying to promote the little place when and where I can. And I assure you, I will still withstand whatever abuses come my way in the future. And come, they will.

All of that said, I want to point out that our country is in great peril. We have far more important things to discuss.
