You bash the Democrats for not holding their own party up to the same standards as they hold the Republicans too, when the Republicans are just as guilty of doing the same thing. No they aren't. They are not the same at all. I don't mind Dean Bashing other politicians. I don't mind even really mind him calling Republicans evil. Coming from Dean, that is a compliment. I do resent Durbin comparing us (U.S) to Nazis and the gulags. And when have the Republicans come anywhere near those sort of bitter attacks? They don't. Karl Rove accurately describes the liberals as trying to provide therapy and understand towards our attackers and you call that the same thing as comparing our military to someone that killed literally millions of innocent people? It's not the same at all. It's not even close.
And for those that think that Karl Rove's words weren't 100% correct, you might want to check out this page: Win Without War (http://www.moveon.org/artistswinwithoutwar/).

I just want to point out that Al Franken isn't on the list. Neither is Michael Moore.

Congratulations, IHL on that very thorough and well written thread-starter.
I only hope that all of this will become grist for the mill in 2008, and that we won't soon forget about these things. The Dems count on memory loss, ignorance, and stupidity to win; fortunately these qualities (is that an oxymoron?) are not found in most Americans.

When Karl Rove gave his speech he knew the liberal press would pick up on one or two sentences which they did. He was hoping the liberal press would misquote them the way they misquote Conservatives all the time, they did that also.
Karl Rove's speech can be found here (http://www.theshapeofdays.com/2005/06/text_of_karl_ro.html):(along with a disclaimer)

Users like Chi who can't understand why we say he hates America as he makes comments about 'grinning' when bad things are said about America. Chi is who Rove's comments were directed to. He is a member of the extreme left, a regular visitor to the socialist/anti-American website of Michael Moore. He is the person that believes what is bad for America, is good for liberals. Here is what Karl Rove was talking about:
WASHINGTON, June 23 /U.S. Newswire/ -- "It's outrageous that the same Democrats who stood by Dick Durbin's libeling of our military are now expressing faux outrage over Karl Rove's statement of historical fact. George Soros, Michael Moore, MoveOn and the hard left were wrong after 9/11, just as it was wrong for Democrat leaders to stand by and remain silent after Dick Durbin made his deplorable comments." (RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman)
Liberal Third Party Groups Urged Restraint, Blamed America:
Immediately After 9/11, MoveOn.Org Petition Urged "Moderation And Restraint" And Use Of "International Judicial Institutions."
-- "We, The Undersigned, Citizens And Residents Of The United States Of America ... Appeal To The President Of The United States, George W. Bush ... And To All Leaders Internationally To Use Moderation And Restraint In Responding To The Recent Terrorist Attacks Against The United States." (MoveOn.Org Website, "MoveOn Peace,"

Just After 9/11, Liberal Filmmaker Michael Moore Derided "Terror And Bloodshed" Committed By Americans. (David Brooks, Op-Ed, "All Hail Moore," The New York Times, 6/26/04)
-- Just After 9/11, Moore Blamed America's "Taxpayer-Funded Terrorism" And Bush Administration For Terrorist Attacks. "We abhor terrorism - unless we're the ones doing the terrorizing. We paid and trained and armed a group of terrorists in Nicaragua in the 1980s who killed over 30,000 civilians. That was OUR work. You and me....Let's mourn, let's grieve, and when it's appropriate let's examine our contribution to the unsafe world we live in." (Michael Moore Website Archive, "Death, Downtown," Posted 9/12/01, http://www.michaelmoore.com, Accessed 7/27/04)
-- Michael Moore Said U.S. Should Not Have Removed Taliban After 9/11. Moore: "Likewise, to bomb Afghanistan - I mean, I've never understood this, Tim." (CNBC's "Tim Russert," 10/19/02)
Liberal Donor George Soros Claimed America Should Have Treated 9/11 Attacks As Crime, Responded With Police Work. "War is a false and misleading metaphor in the context of combating terrorism. Treating the attacks of September 11 as crimes against humanity would have been more appropriate. Crimes require police work, not military action. To protect against terrorism, you need precautionary measures, awareness, and intelligence gathering - all of which ultimately depend on the support of the populations among which terrorists operate. Imagine for a moment that September 11 had been treated as a crime. We would have pursued Bin Laden in Afghanistan, but we would not have invaded Iraq. Nor would we have our military struggling to perform police work in full combat gear and getting killed in the process." (George Soros, The Bubble Of American Supremacy, 2004, p. 18)
-- Soros Said The Execution Of 9/11 Attacks "Could Not Have Been More Spectacular." "Admittedly, the terrorist attack was a historic event in its own right. Hijacking fully loaded airplanes and using them as suicide bombs was an audacious idea, and the execution could not have been more spectacular." (George Soros, The Bubble Of American Supremacy, 2004, p. 2)
-- Soros Said War On Terror Had Claimed More Innocent Victims Than 9/11 Attack Itself. "This is a very tough thing to say, but the fact is, that the war on terror as conducted by this administration, has claimed more innocent victims that the original attack itself." (George Soros, Remarks At Take Back America Conference, Washington, DC, 6/3/04)
Liberal Democrats Urged Restraint, Blamed America:
Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH): "'The Time For Peace Is Now,' (Kucinich) Declared Optimistically July 11, Two Months To The Day Before Terrorists Hit The Pentagon And The World Trade Center. ... Sitting In His Capitol Hill Office Last Week, Near A Window Where He Could See The Smoke Rising From The Pentagon On Sept. 11, Kucinich Insisted He Is More Optimistic Than Ever That People Worldwide Are Ready To Embrace The Cause Of Nonviolence." Rep. Neil Abercrombie (D-HI): "Only Now Are We Trying To Figure Out What Is Islam. Maybe If There Was A Department Of Peace, They Would Be Able To Say, 'Uh-Oh, We've Got Some Problems With These People,' ... I Truly Believe That If We Had A Department Of Peace, We Would Have Seen (9/11) Coming." (Ethan Wallison, "War A Challenge For Peace Caucus," Roll Call, 10/1/01)
Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA): "I Am Convinced That Military Action Will Not Prevent Further Acts Of International Terrorism Against The United States." (Eddy Ramirez, "Calif. Congresswoman Alone In Vote Against War Powers Resolution," (University Of California- Berkeley) Daily Californian, 9/17/01)
Al Sharpton (D-NY) Said That The Attacks On The World Trade Center Are Evidence That "America Is Beginning To Reap What It Has Sown." (Adam Nagourney, "Say It Loud," The New York Times, 12/1/02)

Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) To High School Students: "How Would (Muslims) Look At Us Today If We Had Been There Helping Them With Some Of That Rather Than Just Being The People Who Are Going To Bomb In Iraq And Go To Afghanistan? ... Good post DoubleU it’s a shame to see what this country is coming to sometimes I want to break down and cry: :icon_cry: I dont even listen to Micheal Moore anymore he’s a socialist/destroy-America hard leftwinger. I like how he made Bowling for Columbine and secretly discriminated the right side. The even funnier part he was kicked out of an airport for his body guards having guns. what a hypocrite!
And Karl Rove was just telling it like it is. Why can the conservatives get Ted for his outspoken comment about Donald’s resignation act.

I posted Rove's speech because it was a fantastic speech, I posted the comments because that is the liberals Rove was talking about. The fact the democrats who have always said they are not liberals got upset and stood up for the comments above shows that a liberal by any other name is still just a liberal.
Let us not forget what July Forth means to the liberals Rove was talking about by clicking <a href="http://nyc.indymedia.org/newswire/display/150975/index.php">here</a> and <a href="http://chicago.indymedia.org/newswire/display/57575/index.php">here</a>

I'm new here so I apologize for not having all the cool pictures and stuff next to this reply. Ha ha ha.
Well your right on the money with the Libs. I guess I should state my position here first. I am one who believes in multiple parties (and multiple guns too!) If only one side of the government decides things week in and week out, things could get real ugly real quick. With that said I also have no problems with REAL Democrats. My problem, as it is with most Americans, is with the ULTRA LIBS. Here we have a minority that is loud enough that the Democrat leaders assume that they are in fact the mass of us voters. In return, our sad, poor excuses of Democrat leaders (remnants of real men) decide to act out in the same insane ways as their confused followers. Liberals, here are your new leaders; Dean, Turbin-Durbin, Boxer, and Sir Mrs Clinton. Remember Dascel? That is what happens when you open your mouth before thinking. Its his right to do so, dont get me wrong. But its the rights of the voters of South Dakota to vote his ass out too. I guess the new Ultra Lib Party just does not get it yet.
I also can not agree more with what was said here by IHL. Libs scream bloody murder if you stand out different from them on ANY subject, no matter how small or ridiculous it is. Here is just one topic which proves their hypocrisy, "Celebrate Diversity". How many times have we seen this sticker on the Volvo in front of us? ( I like Volvo's too so calm down) "Celebrate Diversity", hmmm, lets study that one shall we? Its wonderful to be different as long as you're like us! Basically that is what this stupid statement is if you look at it closer. If you are different by being a Conservative, Christian or Jew does that count as diversity? Hell no. How about a Nascar Loving freak with three teeth? Can he come hang out at one of your rallies and chug a Hams? no! No! NO!! Diversity is fitting into their little corner in la-la land. A friend of mine says -"The problem with Liberals is that they aren't". Sums it up well, doesnt it.
David Koresh was kind of different, did not matter to Janet Reno did it. She was a peace loving Lib too, could have solved that whole deal with one squad car during Davids daily jog. That too is an entirely different topic. Freaking Liberals. We are to Feel for the Palestinians, the "Homicide Attackers" (yep, thats right, heard that one today on the news, dont call them terrorist!) and any one else that "feels" he has the right to murder Americans. Does this mean we should feel for and understand Timothy McVeigh? Of coarse not but again, thats the Hypocrisy of it all isnt it. We sure have no problem calling him what he is: a Terrorist. A White Terrorist. look here, Rudolph is in the news again as a WHITE TERRORIST. He blew up some innocent people He too is a Terrorist that happens to be white. Why are we not looking for Arab Terroists here? I think we all know that one. It would infringe on their rights to hide whithin our society only to sneak up and kill inncent people ( thank you ACLU!). What the hell happened to that party?
I look back on the black and white videos of JFK. Their he was, slamming his fist on the podium screaming about fighting tyranny and communism. Man those were REAL Democrats. These guys today are spineless Jellyfish that no one really believes in. If anyone did beleive in them it would mean that they would be re elected now wouldnt it.
That's all folks,
Droid.
