It is my belief that there should be no military. But, you dumbasses still
insist of keeping a standing army! Even though our forefathers disbanded the
military shortly after the revolutionary war! WHY? Because they knew a
standing army in time of peace would destroy democracy! You dumbass repigs
always turn to our forefathers to win a debate, even though in truth they
were all liberals and didn't want a military! if WE DIDN'T HAVE AN ARMY, THE
IRAQ WAR NEVER WOULD HAVE HAPPENED. And we wouldnt have killed over 100k
innocent people!

Mexican American War? WWs I and 2? Without a military, we would not even be our own country anymore. Also, your statement about the forefathers disbanding the military is false. This guy doesn't speak for all liberals but he does speak for the left wing fringe that can not think past the nose on their face. They are of the belief, that no military means no war. They also believe that gun control will stop gun violence.

This is about as logical as saything that getting rid of trees will stop forest fires. Sure, it might but is that the best solution?

I bet he didn't know that in 1804 the people of tripoli demanded that we pay a higher tribute to protect against pirating. so we got 8 marines i said marines and 40 some mercenaries to invade them, to no longer have to pay tribute. Did I mention that we used marines from our ARMY.

3 prblems with that logice
1. the army was not an army but a volunteer malitia.

2that means at the end of the war the soldiers cold go home and had no furter obligations.

3. the government under the articles of confederation had no pwer or means(money) to support any army.

If you have no military, you're screwed! I mean, come on! The Canadien Army is smaller than the New Jersey National Guard! THAT IS SAD! Now, people don't want to invade Canada because it sucks up there, no offense to Canadiens. It's cold, there are French people there, and did I mention it's cold?

Anyway, America has only survived because of its military. As someone pointed out earlier, think about what would have happened with the War of 1812, Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, Operation Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom?

We would be speaking British, Spanish, German, Italian, Farhsee, etc. We wouldn't be speaking American!

We wouldn't have the stories to tell our grandchildren, or something to be proud of.

We would be thinking, "Why the bloody hell do we not have an army?"

Since the dawn of time over 200,000 years ago the Cro-Magnons even form a uncivilized army in their very small tribe but just enough protect their land from outside intruders and hunt wild game. 5,000 years ago in Mesopotamia witch is now the Middle East. The Babylonians conquered the Acadians, witch the Acadians had no army what so ever they instead worshiped there polytheistic Gods and where crushed but the on slaught of the army of Babylon. 1,700 years ago the Great Empire of Rome being ruled by Constantine was being defeated and thrown back by surrounding armies, the causes of Rome falling was Decay, Financial Problems ,The Dole and Barbarians, Economic, I love this one “Military.” And my favorite lead poisoning, now moving on.

Over 200 years ago a little known country was forming called the United States of America they had to fight for their freedom from the most powerful country in the world at that time Great Britain. Great Britain being cocky as they were decided to invade America to restore order there, they already had a strong presence on the containment but George Washington and Thomas Jefferson led a small rag tag band of a militia witch was turned into a great army of freedom fighting patriots and turned the tide and ended the war at battle of Yorktown. Through out History Armies where needed and also abused by Tyrants such as Hitler, Mussolini, Cesar and Napoleon.

If anyone else wants to hear history I will be more and happy to fill you in. The one thing about History is it stays History and never changes or gets forgotten. I only covered a few about history I know.

The fact of the matter is Armies are needed without an army we would have been conquered by countless countries who abuse the power, who ever that guy is who wrote IHL is a moron. Yea I wish armies were not needed and we just be one big happy planetary family but the fact of the matter is we are not until this happens, witch it won’t be in my life time I can assure you of that we need an army to protect everything this country has stood for, for over 200 years.

Actually his statement of our forefathers disbanding the military is not false. It was disbanded shortly after the Revolutionary War, but we realized we were merely at the mercy of France and Britian. So the military was reastabilished in 1798 I believe.

Yup, the first Barbary Wars (Barbary Pirates). If my history is correct they took over the USS Philledelphia after refusing to pay tribute. "From the Halls of Montazuma, to the shores of Tripoli."
