white homosexuals are the top group in HIV infected individuals...Next are the black IV drug users then black homosexuals. It has nothing to do with being rich or poor. Black people get infected bc they practice risky behavior i.e gay sex without condoms and sharing of needles same as white people. There just happens to be more black iv drug users than white (in my particular area). A safe assumption would be that the proportion is the same throughout america though.
