Dear Listers,
Let's make some art! Let's write some liberal Haiku!
Ahem...
The car plunges deep
The big red nose glows brightly
Mary Jo is dead.

liberals say they care
about the poor opressed
then hate everyone
liberals say that white folks
are the cause of all evil
they are wrong
there once was a woman named Brady
who hated all guns and their owners
she woke in the night in a terrible fright
and said there is someone breaking in
to my house and robbing me
and all I have to defend me
is this silly anti- gun poster
so now I am dead
anti-gunning went to my head
and now I wished it had been different
and I could defend myself
but where I live
my policies did give
all the rights to the bad guys
and now that I am gone
and guns are now legal
and the bad guys don't break in anymore
or bust down the door
they know they'll get shot
and that means a lot
to the folks who want peace now have a remedy
all they need now is to silence ted kennedy.
ok so it ain't Haiku- it is just mental doodling with words.
thanks for starting this disccussion ! now I will be doing counter liberal poetry all damn week! Robert Service meets Rush Limbaugh-
there once was man from nantucket
whose policies surely did suck it
his initials were TK
a liberal lion you say?
But he left that poor girl
in the icy tide to swirl
he left her to die
and then he did lie
now he's on the top
of the democrats list
he is always bitching about
George Bush or Bill Frist
he asks with a grin
like he has no sin
do you have any ethics?
and moral convictions?
Hypocrisy is his game
negligent homicide is his fame
and to those who he fools
with his liberal tools
they are no better than him
remember the poor girl he took for a swim
he let her just die
and Massachussets furthers his lie
every election he is back
with his ponderous sack
of fat and bloat
and lies and gloat
to drunk to care
to pompous to know
he thinks we have forgot
about his murderous lot
but good folks know
away bad apples must go
in the end he will pay
on that judgement day
until then I am sure
he will bloviate forever more
until then my friends
I will unkindly snore
and patently ignore
what he says
and what he does
someday he'll be gone
then we'll be free
and folks will see
the Kennedy curse lifted
and we will all feel gifted.

There once was a man
A man of deep mystery
this mans name was Dean
who would soon make history
What is there too say?
Is this man's brain made of hey?
mabye it is clay
mabye its the Chardone*
"Nazis, Nazis they!!"
said Durbin, on Gitmo Bay
"Hey! I meant no disrespect"*2
"Please forgive on this statement!"
Why can't we agree
That my country tis' of thee
Must be able to see
That there are more fish in the sea?*3
This was my first real poem that I ever really put effort in. I haven't written a Haiku in about seven years, so I made several mistakes in the structure and meter of this poem.
The first note is, of course, about the misspell of Chardone. I don't drink much, so bare with my bad spelling of famous liquors
The second was a note that it was a severe discrepancy in the meter. It was about here I gave up trying to be extreme in articulation.
The third note is refering to the sea I mentioned. for those lacking in metaphors, I meant that there were more important issues to go on topic that would help serve the country than a forced appologie. I wanted him to apologize myself. Being a hobbiest of studying WW2, I knew that the differences of the Nazis treatment, and our treatment, were extremely different. plus, I seriously doubt he meant it. He probably said it on account on the reprocusions in the nation the statement had. He wouldn't want bad press if he might become a vice-prez. since he is supposedly Dean's second in command (I didn't read much into it), he might be nominated to be the vice-prez in the 2008 elections.
Well, that's my poem. Tell me what you think.

A Haiku I believe, has three lines. 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second, and another 5 on the third. They don't generally rhyme either.

I didn't write a Haiku, but a sonnet is just as good.
Gregory Effer protests the war
And wears peace signs around his neck.
Effer has time because he has no work
And his money comes form a welfare check.
Effer you see acts the liberal bit
He abuses his freedoms and his right to speak.
Of course it’s obvious he’s full of shit
And the future for his party is surely bleak.
Mr. Effer poses quite a problem
He uses his rights to tarnish our nation.
Perhaps libs will die with their communist ways
Because with them in our nation, our future is dim.
They kill unborn babies and marry the gays
But what to expect from a liberal like him?
