B. Hussein campaigned heavily on the war issue. Playing to the emotions of the left who were against the war at all costs, he won much favor with the group.
There was also a cost issue attached to this. So now with our country in financially dire straights, why are we not hearing about massive troop withdrawls and watching on the daily news as massive numbers of troops are welcomed home?
Aren't the liberals upset with The Chairman over this? Where are the anti-war protesters? Couldn't Pelosi use all that money we'd save for even more jets? Doesn't Obama care about the men and women of our military?
Yoo-hoo.....Barry! When are the troops coming home there, big guy?

Remember during Clinton's First Inauguration when there was a flyover, Ron Silver looked nervous and another celeb said, "They're our jets now."

Obama doesn't care about our troops.
Obama doesn't care about our military families.
Obama is engaged in an illegal war.
Obama is a warmonger.
Obama loves killing innocent people (this one is actually true... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYRpIf2F9NA )
When are the troops coming home, Chairman?

Where is the outcry from the anti-war crowd?
Why the silence? If war continues, aren't you worried about future generations?

FYI and a laugh: During the middle ages I played the guitar and sang folk music. This was in a previous life when I was a bleeding heart liberal. This was before the government started taking taxes from me. What happy, blissfully ignorant days they were.

Aren't any of you glad that Obama's not being a total idiot and rushing withdrawals? If you were worried that he was going to rapidly withdraw troops, at least be glad it's not happening. Don't get me wrong, I'm not backing Obama on this, but at least the policy isn't as bad as it could have been.
I've noticed a lot of the people in the military talking about deploying to Afghanistan, not Iraq. There will probably be a big increase in the number of troops deployed in the country. The place is a mess right now- where there's not Taliban and Arab jihadists, there are still bandits and drug lords and its overwhelmingly lawless.
I'm considering doing some freelance work in Afghanistan next year. Despite the lawlessness, there's not a whole lot of organized resistance to the ISAF in the northern half of the country. I'm calculating the risk management.

Her post is a commentary on the bias in the media as well as the hypocracy of everyone on the left....particularly considering the absolute thrashing GW and the Right took in the media over the two conflicts

Obama dug a hole for himself when, during the campaign, he said Afghanistan is the war we should be fighting.
Uh, oh! Now it would be hard, if not impossible, for him to say, "I was wrong. We need to get out of Afghanistan now."
For the left, the war we are fighting is always wrong. The war we are not fighting is the right war.

I've gotta say that I disagree here... I don't remember hearing anyone say that they were against us going into Afghanistan. I thought that it was Iraq that caused the stir. No?

Not me. I'm for killing those that would kill us no matter where they are.

I am against our country sending troops into any other country. I feel that we should have those troops stationed at our borders instead. I am more isolationist when it comes to foreign policy. I think if other countries attack us first, then we should do something about it, but I did not think that 9/11/01 was a good enough reason to be entering the Middle East. Most of these terrorists do not even reside mostly in one country. I did not think that we had enough reason to go over there. Although, my views of military action are much harsher than most because I think if a country attacks us, we should just drop some bombs on them. I don't see how you could do that though when you don't really know where all the terrorists are hiding. Then we have terrorists residing within our own country now and I think it is because we don't have enough troops protecting our borders. It is really sad how terrorists groups have gotten so much worse these days. I wish they could be eliminated but I think it would be too hard.

The anti war crowd is always anti-war, we could be invaded by China and they'd be anti-war. The problem for them with A'stan was that the majority of the country wanted retribution for AQ murdering 3000 of our citizens. For them to roll out the anti-war band wagon would have been political suicide.
Even at the outset of Iraq, they were remarkably mute.
But as it turned from ousting Hussein to combating an insurgency, they found the collateral they needed to roll out the band wagon.
Despite Iraq being the most surgically precise military operation of it's scale in the history of warfare, if you listened to the anti-war crowd and their lemmings, you'd think we were reliving Vietnam.
The anti-war platform is political, there is nothing conscentious (sp) about it.

I think at the very least we can all agree that we should take our troops home from Japan and Germany. WW2 was over almost 60 years ago and those countries are stable. There is no reason to keep them there and it's really expensive.

I would have to disagree with that, I think Germany is used as a stopping point on the way to the middle east and also for its use of the good hospitals there too.
Japan is used for the ports, its somewhat near the center of things and what other country can match us in gadgets and is friendly enough to let us keep nuclear powered air craft carriers at there home ports?

And there you have it........from a man who most likely knows what he is talking about since he knows the inner workings of military.
