It seem some in Mexico are a little upset (http://news.ft.com/cms/s/bf6dcbe2-c3da-11d9-a56d-00000e2511c8.html) that their free ride into the United States might be coming end or at least be made a bit more difficult.

A new bill that was signed into law this week will fund a border wall and prevent illegal aliens from obtaining drivers licenses in the United States. Mexican president Vicente Fox said, "Building walls doesn't help anyone build a good neighborhood". That maybe be true, but either does coming to American illegally, committing crimes, taking advantage of medical care and not abiding by the laws of the United States. I can understand why many in Mexico would see the tightening of the borders as a bad thing. They have everything to lose.

I'm all for a person who wants to improve their life and I understand that things are very difficult for many people in Mexico. But if you want to come to this country you can at least abide by the laws of this land. Come here, work, be productive and contribute to the betterment of American and we all win. But don't expect that just because you sneak into this country illegally that we somehow owe you anything. We don't. Especially a drivers license that is virtually a passport to almost anything in this country, including many of our government programs. What we owe you is a quick trip right back where you came from. We owe that to the citizens of this country.

I hope the tightening of the borders keeps in the focus of the American public and politicians. Those opposed to a tighter border like to accuse those of us that favor tightening of the border as being racist or closed-minded. That is not the case. You should not be rewarded for simply being lucky enough to not be caught at something illegal.

How can any American see stronger borders as a bad idea?

I didn't hear about this. Wont they just tunnel under the wall?

Guns R Cool

We'll probably build the wall like 10 or 20 feet under the ground.

Will they mount guns on the wall?

that's what vieques and small islands in the south pacific are for.

edit: not to mention, if we tried to go militaristic on everybody, we'd find ourselves taken down pretty quickly. We may have the best military in the world, but its not good enough to fight the entire world.

How about the tax breaks that some states are giving illegal immigrants for college. College students who are legally born in the state cannot recieve the same tax breaks. O and if ffor whatever reason the illegal immigrant decides to grow up and apply for citizenship they can no longer keep the tax break? Wheres the logic here people? why are some states supporting illegal immigrants from applying for citizenhood? it must be in the hands of a democrat??? it alwasy is!!!!!

haha your too right!!! definetly i think that sometimes, even though my whole family is military, that we should just have a policy of isolationism as a country. Why should we ====ing help those stupid *ucking welfare countries anyways?. We only help promote their destruction of the family unit and promiscuous casual sex. France only almost elected a *ucking neo nazi facist leader a couple of years ago i forgot his name because i could give two shits about thier politics. (Hahahaha) you cant teach old dogs new tricks is what i have to say, and france well deep down inside they are just so so so so sad that they arent a world power that they once were during the earlier centuries. They couldnt even hold vietnam before the veitnam war. They are just all jealous of our prosperity if they cant live here than they might as well *ucking hate us. blah blah blah blah blah.

O and if europe dosent start having more babies soon... well they will wake up one day and wonder why islam has completely taken over thier countries, they will then all realize the wrath that the muslim countries have against others not of thier own kind. There will be no tolerance, islam states or even better Muhammed states- thier o so great leader, bless is condemned soul- that if a muslim is to live with infidels they will be considered second class citizens. I pray to GOD- the good one- and thank him that we have a president who knows exactly how to fight this war with its unseen foe. Preventative war is the only way. GO BUSH...

ps sorry if this is confusing to anyone, I am studying for an exam and i am taking a break to vent out my opinions

A comedian once said that California wants Mexico. They figure if you have to live with the people, you might as well have the real estate that goes with them.

The most asine thing I've heard is that plan to give in state rates to illegals, but force US citizens out of state to pay the out of state rate.

Why don't we dump our toxic waste along the mexico border? that will slow down the border crossings. They'll glow, thus making them easier for our Minuteman to spot.

real quick...anyone who thinks the US can take over the world and beat everyone is out of their mind. we are about 4 percent of the worlds population tops. thats 4 vs. 96. In real life (not movies) jet li, muhammed ali, chuck norris, and jackie chan couldnt beat up 96 people at once.

(now expand that to the worlds population and remember that we wouldnt have jackie chan or jet li on our side, instead we would have fat people eating all of our supplies.)

however, the world would have a hell of a time trying to invade us. everyone and their brother has enough gun power to kill about a thousand people in their basement here in the midwest.

OUR national service is larger then the 96% put together remember.... good countries like BRAZIL,AUSTRLIA,FINLAND,SWEDEN,NORWAY, IRELAND, and a lot more will always support us....So when it comes down to it....it might be a 75% vs. 25% remember a majority of the forgeign countries love us. Don't base your facts watching the news

#1. I don't think those countries would support us if our goal was to take over the world.

#2. Don't get all your facts from right wing extremist web sites. To say that a majority of foreign countries love us is like saying everyone and their brother in the midwest has enough gun power to kill a thousand people. both are gross overstatements with absolutely no proof to back them up.

The countries I have mentioned, have and will continue to suppport Us. I know for a fact...I have grown up in Finland and have been to the other five.I never said once that we need to conquer the world. All I said was and I qoute "You're with us or against us." You help us, we help you but if something like a tsumani hits in a country that doesn't support us, well get your own damn money and relief. Why should we support countries that mock us, call us names and tell their people rumors about us.

Your statements reek of syphilis.filth

And about the gun powder......In the midwest, because of the meth labs we have hydrohydrogenammonia. It is much better them gun powder

Count-

I have family in finland and brazil....Those are the countries that will support us no matter what....They have since WWII and countinue to do so...they have not once thought about getting out of the war on terror....And yes a majority of foreign countries support us...just because they couldn't help in a big way on the war on terror, they still support us...your statement reeks of syphilis.filth.
I have family in Finland and Brazil as well, and they don't support us. Wow, broad unsubstantiated claims are easy. I like this a lot more than actual facts. I think everytime I want to make a claim I'll just make it and damn the proof.
I like the syphilis part best, it proves that you're smart and I'm no match for your obvious wit.

No...As a teacher I just state the facts. Your statement was a failure and it reeked. I don't know what syphilis reeks of but since I am a gambling man,I figured it would be that statement. Typical liberal statement though, always assuming the "man" is putting you down. Liberals are truely the down fall of this society :icon_evil

As a teacher you should know that statements cannot have a smell and, therefore, it could not be fact that my statement reeked. Please don't ever teach my child, as you have yet to learn the difference between concrete and abstract nouns.

Good luck with English.

Arguing with the ACLU is a piece of cake compared to you.

Why did I get lectured about concrete and abstract nouns. I was not try to register any of my five senses. Sure, reek is a strong or disagreeable fume or odor but I didn't mean for it to be a concrete noun. It could be used as an abstract noun based on the fact reek could have been an idea, emotion, or a feeling. Hence, your statement gave me the feeling it was filth, I used reek as a feeling. As a verb it is to give a strong impression of some constituent quality or feature <a neighborhood that reeks of poverty>

Thank you for your thought, but since I have my degree in English and Literature, I think I will do all the teaching from now on.

that's nice, since reek, as you used it, isn't a noun.
The noun was "statement" and you described it with the word "reek" and said that the "reek" was fact. That cannot be proven, since "statement" is not a concrete noun and cannot have a smell, or a "reek".

I used reek as a feeling.
Then you should look it up, again.

Nice give up. Quit pretending to be the teacher and try to learn something in school, like English.
And by English, I mean subject verb agreement (and you even edited this post).
